There are plenty out there about everyone. Here are my favorite four from MSU.

1. Marcus Bullard threw the Final Four game in 1996 against Syracuse.

State was a lot better than Syracuse that year, and starting point guard Marcus Bullard had a abnormally high number of turnovers. Some say that he was on the take, further supported that he has been in prison for the majority of the time since college.

2. If Jackie Sherrill would have signed Steve McNair, Keyshawn Johnson would have come to MSU and been a WR along with Eric Moulds.

There is a little evidence of this one, as Keyshawn was committed to MSU for a short time. Everyone missed out on McNair because he played at such a small high school.

3. Steve Spurrier wanted the MSU coaching job in 1986.

Again, there is some evidence of this. MSU hired Rockey Felker, who gave us the Tech and Ten season of 1988 and I dont know what happened to Steve Spurrier.

4. Sly Croom's hiring saved us from major NCAA trouble.

I'm a believer in this theory. We were facing some major NCAA trouble and hiring the first African American coach in the SEC got us out of it.

What exactly do you think a conspiracy is? Only #1 on your list comes close to being a conspiracy, and even that can be chalked up to a dude having lots of turnovers.

Ole Miss had a booster sleep with an NCAA investigator and that's what lead to State and Jackie Sherrill being investigated.

My favorite is Texas used its influence with the NCAA to force us to run off Jackie Sherrill.

I have always heard he wanted the LSU job, but Arnspager stealthed him over to Florida when he became AD over there.

Saban was coming back to Baton Rouge had Les Miles actually officially taken the Michigan job in 2007.

I think Miles actually verbally agreed to the Michigan job in 2007 and backed out when they won the SEC Championship and realized they would play for the National Title.

I know that Saban was interested in coming back...how interested, we will never know.

It was truly amazing how cunning Arnsparger was. Trick LSU into hiring Archer over Spurrier and then wait three years and hire Spurrier after Galen Hall is forced to resign.

Conspiracy Theories About Your School's Athletic Teams

There are several theories about the University of Alabama, some of which may be true"

1. "The REC secretly controls the Alabama football program, the SEC office in Birmingham, the assignment of refs for SEC games, the polls that vote the final four, and most of the sport writers, high school coaches who steer star players during recruitment."

It is hard to confirm information about super top secret organizations tied to the illuminate, but this theory seems to have legs... probably true.

2. "Bear Bryant paid players.."

Well, in his book he is quoted as sending a message to John David Crow to "...step outside his house because an airplane will fly over raining money." Of course he was coaching at A&M then so it is probably true.

3. "Every time a virgin walks by Denny Chimes a brick will fall off"

This was a saying traced back at least as early as 1940 when my parents were freshmen. Denny Chimes is still standing, so I guess the rumor isn't true, or maybe it is... or something.

Not sure about our being "a lot better" than Syracuse. They had big John Wallace that worked us over pretty well. Marcus did have a large number of turnovers but as a team, we were in the low 20s. So it wasn't all Bullard. I do remember him dribbling off of his foot several times though. Never heard the throwing the game theory. I just thought he was in some way impaired.
