Yes, we're all aware of the bashing Tennessee is taking over not having a player drafted into the NFL for the 2nd year running. It got me to wondering when the last time Vanderbilt had gone more than one draft without a player chosen. As bad as Vanderbilt football has been, I figured it would be rather common. However, the only time in Vandy's history they have had more than 1 draft in a row without a player selected was when it happened 3 times for the 1993, 1994, and 1995 drafts.

In fairness to UT, this is the ONLY time they have had consecutive drafts without a player chosen. I could do the research myself, but that's effort. When was the last time your favorite team didn't have anyone drafted in consecutive years?

I don't know if Bama has ever gone consecutive years without a single player drafted, but the last time we didn't have one was 2008.

We'll have about 8 players drafted next year. We had 3 underclassmen that would have been draft locks this year but chose to stay with UT.

The only times LSU has not had a player drafted are 1942 and 1993. Never in back-to-back seasons.

That is freaking incredible. Twice since the draft's inception in 1937?

Yep! I was shocked. Now this is just wikipedia, I don't necessarily know where to fact check.

It's a matter of historical fact, so Wikipedia should be accurate enough. I used pro-football-reference.com for my info.

Where do you rank Saban on the list of all-time greatest coaches, with 1 being the worst and Derek Dooley being the best?

And 1938, according to drafthistory.com.

So in this thread, Vandy takes a steamer on Tennessee's chest.
