I got my Dad this Rebel gear for Christmas.... He used to make me go to Ole Miss games when I was just a toddler. Well, this is the first Sugar Bowl in 45 years and I know he will wear this proudly! Cheers to my Dad and all the rest of you Rebears!

Merry Christmas to tRant!

My very very elderly Dad is a big Tennessee fan. We bought a cabin just outside of Johnson City to be close to him during the holidays and practically everything we have gotten him for the past 30 years or so has been UT related. His favorite was a big, blown-up, picture of him with Peyton Manning, plus we got a huge blown-up picture of Fulmer and Manning at midfield the night they retired Manning's jersey autographed by both Manning and Fulmer. Then we had this other picture of him and Pat Head Summit together, that she autographed, blown-up and framed for him. Matter of fact, I was just up there a couple of weeks ago and, on a whim, bought him a new Tennessee Nike hat, orange, with a grey T ... and he is wearing it all the time when he goes for walks through the woods with his dog.

I'm up late tonight watching the Tennessee/Gonzaga basketball game so that when we arrive at the cabin tomorrow for Christmas week he and I and my Son can talk about the game ... he's always liked Rick Barnes and the UT women are sorta down this year.

I suspect you have a relationship with your Dad like that ... built around SEC sports. My Son and I are that way ... it's mostly a Southern thing, and a Notre Dame thing ... but it's always a good thing.

Do it often. You cannot go wrong with your Dad giving him stuff like that, which he would probably never spend for himself - luxury fan items.

Why didn't you spend the coin to get him one like Coach Freeze with the Bible pocket on the sleeve?

You are so right SCrooster! Definitely a gift that will make him smile. And he took me to many OM games growing up. Then he moved me to S. FL where I grad. HS and ended up at UF. Eventually at MSU where I finished and got a graduate degree. Growing up in the heart of the MS Delta I was always surrounded by good people from OM and MSU! The rivalry has always been great fun and especially with my Dad! Merry Christmas my friend!
