Congrats LSU. You broke the streak.

No non-offensive touchdowns. Well done.

Also 120 straight games scoring in the 1st half. Longest streak in the country

I was disappointed by that. Coach O said before the game that one thing they had stressed was not allowing the non-offensive scores, and they accomplished it. Felt sorry for the LSU defense and special teams. You hold the #1 team to 10 points, you ought to win.

Actually it was 126 games

Not the streak that we wanted to break, unfortunately.

If you tell me this before the game, no way I think we don't win. But y'all's front seven is out of this world good. I don't see anyone able to compete in the trenches against you guys.

LSU's defense is very good.
Obviously, Alabama was a little safe with their play calls, because they knew they couldn't afford any bad turnovers that directly led to points for LSU. And they knew LSU's offense wouldn't be able to move the ball against their defense.
However, even I was impressed with LSU's defense. The talent level we have his off the charts. White, Beckwith, Adams, Jackson, Thomas, Riley, Key, etc. This is the most talented defense we've had since the 2010-2012 teams. And now this team is coached better on that side than we've ever been. Always in position, good tackling, can stop the run, stop the pass, force turnovers... They do absolutely everything.
I'm interested to see how our offense looks in the last three games. If they can be successful, it'll just add to the remarkableness of what the Alabama defense does to LSU in terms of matching up. Our play calling was trash last night, but when your offensive line gets blown up every single play of the game, it makes it a bit hard to call plays, play quarterback, play running back, etc.
I'd give anything for this game to not be the CBS night game anymore. Or for someone else to get good enough to where Alabama will want to schedule their bye before them instead of us (besides Auburn).
Saban loves the LSU game. Maybe it has something to do with him coaching here in the past. But I think it mostly has to do with the style of team we are. Saban doesn't get many opportunities anymore to play a game against a pro-style, physical, smashmouth, talented team like LSU, simply given the current nature of college football. He loves that shite. He loves being able to dominate a team physically and beat them up front. That's old school, Nick Saban football at his core. And he's done it to LSU again and again and again. LSU isn't one of Alabama's top two rivals, but I have no doubt that Saban loves hyping up this game each and every year to his team, and then proceeding to process our arse.
If LSU can't land Tom Herman (and I don't think we will), it would not surprise me if Kiffin is the hire. Maybe we'd see it as killing two birds with one stone (getting a creative offensive coach and stealing him from Alabama). To me, I think that would be a very risky hire. And I also don't think it would matter. Everyone is stuck in the middle of this Alabama dynasty, and we're just going to have to deal with it until Saban is gone. Pretty much just like it was for everyone else in the SEC in the 1970s, except for worse.

Well put, it obviously ends when Saban retires but I do think he has a few more years left.

I think any team could do a lot worse than to hire Lane Kiffin. I think he has probably learned a lot since USC.
If LSU were to hire Kiffin, though, it would put me in a tough spot. I like Kiffin, and I would like that it irritated some of the more hateful (about Alabama) Tennessee fans, especially if Kiffin were to have success at LSU. I might, then, would feel inclined to pull for LSU except when they played Alabama, and that would be very weird, being in the same division and all.

Lsu could do much better than Kiffin, I hear his reputation is shite.

You might as well say the world. It is about as legitimate in another country as it is in this one.

Now that's a guy that sees the glass half full.

Suck it Bama!
Didn't matter though. Damn that d-line is disgusting. Was a very good game and the first half was an incredible defensive showdown.
Eta: Shame we couldn't break the one streak that matters...22 games. Or is it 23 now?
