Congrats Auburn on the BCSCG bid. This may be the best 1 year turnaround ever

That said, I'd love to say "Go make it five straight for the state", but after the way the IB ended, the only thing that makes it worse is seeing those Orange and Blue colors holding the title that for so long I thought would be Bama's.

So I'm not going to be pissed either way. I'm not cheering for you, but if the state wins five straight, whatever.

But here is something to get y'all ready.

Since the streak has been alive, the National Champion has always beaten last year's National Champion, with the exception being when Alabama repeated. In theory that still happened, cuz we all know Bama beat themselves vs A&M.

Anyway, Auburn and Bama will likely be top five preseason teams, hell maybe top 3. Those rankings may not matter anymore, but if the IB is close again next year and the committee does their job and picks the best teams, may all hell not break loose if both teams make the playoffs. Long way to go, maybe neither team makes it, but the Iron Bowl is about to be for the West ever year.

We won three the past 4 years. We've verb overdue for let down after the luck the last two years. Auburn you can tag in for this one. We'll get you next year. Roll Tide and beat FSU.

Keep in mind, if both teams win their next game, we will finish 1 and 2. That is kinda cool, but I still don't want Auburn raising that trophy.

Jawja fans mad.

Auburn shouldn't have needed that Hail Mary. They were up 20 in the fourth. You only started to come back because they all got big heads and stopped trying as hard.

One of the best parts about this turnaround is how we continue to bum Georgia out. I didn't think it was possible to let them down multiple times after we beat them but here we are.

Not mad...just stating my opinion, just like you.

I grew up an Auburn fan, so I am okay with it. Sorry to burst your antagonizing bubble.

I can't think of one better
Not to many Bama &Auburn fans will admit this, but we make each other better. We both feed off each other successes and it pushes us both. Nothing wrong with that either because competition is a great thing.

* Auburn success during Bama probation & coaching troubled era. Makes Bama go hard after a great coach when things cleared up and Bama had hope again
Bama wins 2009 BCS Title

*Auburn sells out after Bama's dream 2009 season
Auburn wins 2010 BCS

* Bama works hard during off-season after tough Iron Bowl loss and Auburn winning Title
Bama wins 2011 BCS

* Bama still on ride and wins 2012 BCS Title

* After watching Bama take 3 of 4 Auburn fires a coach who just won a BCS Title in 2010. Not many programs would've done this and Saban/Bama successes played a major part with that decision.
Auburn might win 2013 BCS Title

*Bet Bama's younger players will be more hungry this off season. Compared to how they'd been if they would've won a 3-peat this season. My guess is this Auburn success and loss is food for Bama's underclassmen.

Many reason to why Bama and Auburn are doing this
But Saban's arrival played a major roll

I feel their pain. They had a season of crappy injuries that spoiled AM's last year.

First, I want to congratulate auburn on a great season. I don't think this was a lucky season for auburn. They were blowing Georgia out and Georgia was LUCKY to make the game that close in the end. The win against Bama, as heartbreaking as it is, they won the game. No way you want to lose a game like that and I don't question CNS decision but because we hasn't stopped them all game he as well as I didn't like our chances in ot.

Now, the scariest part about this is that Gus won a natty with his offense his first year at auburn as an oc and now he is back at the big game in his first year as a hc. With that six year extension, he isn't going away for a while.

ROLL TIDE!

So playing complete in all phases of the game for the fourth quarter is more lucky than a 4 & 19 hail mary tip that falls into the hands of an Auburn player? Good lord, this board has gone to shite

Good post Squirrely. I was thinking the same thing. Iron sharpens iron and this can be a good thing for both teams. It focuses the hotbed of football right on the state and both teams can benefit from recruits and motivation.

Auburns got it won. Besides Clemson, Florida State has not really beat anyone either. Auburn is the 2013 National Champions

Congrats Auburn. Everybody knows that most teams require a few lucky breaks to win a championship. I am bummed that my LSU Tigers did not do better than they did but at least we put the only blemish on Auburns season. Represent the SEC well and keep the streak alive. I can't wait for the playoff system next year primarily to see if the SEC can get 2 teams in each year. What a great year of college football this has been.

Did you see the SEC championship game yesterday? That is AU -UGA if Gus for some inexplicable reason doesn't completely abandon the running game which had been shredding UGA. So no, it may not have been the luck of a hail Mary, but UGA was the benefactor of one of Gus's few coaching blunders this season.

Auburn's NC in 2010 no longer looks like a fluke then. They have a shot to be just as dominant as Bama. 2 in 4 years? Look out Bama.

Iron Bowl for the West is a likely scenario the next few years.
