From a pure football/athletics standpoint, I'd like to see FSU and Clemson added. However, I know that Clemson won't be added due to small market and I'm not really sure about FSU.

Any use adding Texas or Oklahoma?

Ideally I'd like to see UNC and UVA added, or UNC and Duke (assuming that it's basically the end of the ACC if UNC is leaving). I have no interest in Texas. Just not a good fit at all. Too used to being the biggest voice in the room.

True.

FSU is a pretty good national brand though that could produce more of a nation-wide tv audience, right? But, UNC and Duke would be phenomenal adds, but I'm not sure they'd accept because both of those schools are kind of snobs academically. UVA too.

UNC would be the best fit. Theyre always solid in all 3 big sports

Oklhaoma would be okay but adding them wouldn't be that big in terms of viewership

Why FSU? Yeah they're good at football but they add nothing in terms of viewership

Same thing for Clemson

Colorado and Stanford.

Both are much better travel destinations than anything we have in the SEC right now.

NC State and Va Tech. Both are far better fits for the SEC (fanwise) than UNC and UVA.

UVA would be an absolutely horrible fit. Their fans suck donkey slongs.

UNC would not be bad, but their football fans are far from SEC caliber fans, whereas, NC State's fans are SEC fans wanting to bust away from the ACC.

Clemson, Ga Tech, FSU ... will never be invited into the SEC. Not ever, not under any circumstances.

Add Texas & OU.

Move Mizzou to west.

Move AU & Bama to east.

What is wrong with people? OU and Texas? Just NO! WVU and Ohio State make more sense than those two

Ohio State and Texas, but just to spin those other two conferences out of control.

Really I would like UNCorNCState and OU.

I guess it has been a month or so since we had this conversation. Always ends the same way.

Lots of folks talk about FSU and Clemson because they are great cultural fits but don't add a dollar to the bottom line. Others will chime in on Texas or Oklahoma but neither is going to happen because Texas is a horrific cultural fit, will want to run the place, doesn't add any viewers, and will have trouble leaving Tech, Baylor, and TCU out in the cold. OU can't leave OSU and no way do you take that as a package.

It's all about the ACC.

The best 2 are UVA and UNC by a good stretch. Elite academics with AAU membership. Solid overall AD's even if their football is marginal by SEC standards. Serious money and power that can turn around themselves into football powers if they just choose to. Flagship schools in both states that bring a ton of viewers.

After that you have Duke and VTech or about equal value but for different reasons. NC State is a possibility but would end up being a mistake as they just don't have the resources and I just don't see the SEC buying off on having a member school that has a BoR that is controlled by another school in a different conference (UNC).

After that it is getting in to really hypothetical. As it stands the SEC rules the world and has no reason to make a move unless the Big 1G makes a move for UNC/UVA which would break up the ACC. Even if the Big 1G gets both of them the SEC has to be careful not to add someone who can't pull their own weight (meaning delivering a lot of TV money), if a school can't add $50 mill in value annually then it is a net negative honestly.

Adding A&M and the Texas market was the checkmate move. Missouri was a solid add even if some complain about it. Most of the potential adds are far less attractive than Missouri was and is.
