Get the ncaa to extend the season one game and allow conferences to challenge each other like in basketball. What does the rant say? Yes- upvote No- downvote

I would love it if we had something like this with the B1G but the east already pretty much does this with the ACC

Why extend the season one game? Alabama already plays 15. Just play a P5 from another conference instead of a cupcake. Only mandate should be it's a home/home and not neutral. Good luck getting another conference to sign up for that against the SEC though. Big 10 is too chicken shite, ACC already has several permanent SEC opponents, and the big 12 isn't worthy or willing

Upvoted for the idea, but not the extension. The season is plenty long to allow this. Just toss out a rent a win week. I wish every p5 school would only schedule p5 schools.

I don't think it's practical in football. Games in football are too important for the schools to let the conference pick them.

Another game is stupid, we just need to replace one of our patsy OOC teams, the SEC already plays too many of them generally. It would really even out schedules if the SEC played 2 Power 5 OOC teams each season. The conferences with 9 conference games generally play 2 lower OOC opponents and 1 higher, giving them 10 power 5 type games generally.

I think a PAC-12/SEC challenge would be pretty cool. We dont play any bowl games against them. Only 2 SEC teams left out each season. the toughest part is announcing the games in a timely manner. If you do it like basketball, you use the Top 12 teams from the SEC the year prior to match the 12 PAC-12 teams, but you need to match these up years in advance. We cant be announcing games just before the start of the season, so that's a major difference.

The east teams could just play different ACC teams in a challenge like UGA could play Pitt and tech, Florida could play FSU and UNC, etc. I wouldn't mind kicking the ACC's arse twice a year.

A lot of folks don't realize how much that rent a win is worth to the AD. Last year LSU averaged over 5.5 million just in ticket sales over 7 home games. That doesn't even include things like concessions and parking. They get that every year with the rent a win. An extra home and home vs a rent a win costs the AD minimum 2.75 million a year which is enough to fund 2 or 3 Olympic sports like men's/women's swimming, men's/women's tennis, or beach volleyball.

This is what UGA has done in recent years and is continuing this year.

2014 Clemson and Tech
2016 UNC and Tech
2017 Notre Dame (ACCBB) and Tech

You are absolutely right. It's also important for businesses in the local community who make their livings on home games, totally outside of athletic revenue.

You basically lose 0.5 home games a season with additional home/aways like this.

And for teams that have a permanent OOC rival already (UF, UGA, USC) we already have a 0.5 game disadvantage on this front.

Furthermore, the schools are free to schedule whoever they want. There's no rule that says Arkansas can only play cupcakes in their OOC schedule.

If you are pissed because your team plays four shitty games, that's a you problem. Your AD is chickenshit.
