First, anyone who wants to post stupid negative stuff about either guy, please exit this thread.

In last night's LSU game we got a good contrast of their philosophies. During the game Steele didn't do as well as I believe Chavis would have. When Chavis plays a more mobile QB he gets his lineman to maintain two-gap responsibility. He forces the weak passer to stay in the pocket. Circumstances last night called for this, but Steele had his guys executing stunts and spin moves. That's why we saw those frustrating runs by Harris.

However, at the end of the game third-and-Chavis was not the order of the day. Steele blitzed, even sending six guys when Florida needed almost a Hail Mary. My heart was in my throat when I saw that. The defense was attacking Florida's hunh.

I was wishing for Chavis during the first three quarters, but I like the way Steele attacks at the end. Both great coordinators. I feel very lucky to have had both of these guys.

I like where the defense is at. LSU's defensive PPG stats are skewed by truly "special" special teams.

He gave up a very Chavis like long conversion to start that drive (reminded me of the Clemson game). He refused to get beat down the field, though. He adjusted by bringing smart heat on Treon. It worked to perfection.

I thought the defense was pretty solid for the most part

Chavis would have lost that game for LSU last night. UF would have driven the field and won.

LSU has some room for improved defensive play, especially with Ricky Jefferson. They will improve and be ready for Alabama. Your best way to improve is playing quality teams like UF. The defense will be better because of this close game.

Special Teams is another discussion. They will lose a game for LSU before it is over.

I've always thought both were over hyped.

I just pray that Steele doesn't open the game against Alabama in the nickel package.

We gave up 55 rushing yards and T. Harris had 270 passing yards. I was much more frustrated by his passing than his running. I think your assessment Harris as a poor passer is off.

And to be clear, "special" in this case means "embarrassingly bad and someone needs to be shitcanned" because I wouldn't insult retarded people by comparing Peveto to them

Not to argue with you but the following rushing statistical line does not really feel like "those frustrating runs by Harris":

Treon Harris 13 runs
55 yards
35 sack yardage
20 net yards
0 touchdowns
17 yard long run
1.5 yard average
5 sacks

A guy like Treon will break containment against any team he plays here and there. I thought they played him nearly perfectly. And I enjoyed the part where he didn't drive down the field and beat us in the end the most. That was the part that felt different.

I really liked it.

Good end of game calling.

The long third down conversion was once again our slot coverage getting taken advantage of.

I think you gotta either have White follow the top receiver around or see if Donte Jackson can do a better job keeping up with these Guys because Dwayne Thomas is getting torched a lot.

LSU defense is responsible for giving up 14 points. The other 14 are on Peveto. He is the worst coordinator in CFB and should be fired first thing Monday. He is an embarrassment to the program

I am much more impressed with Steele's play calling abilities than I was with Chavis in the last few years. The last couple of drives were called perfectly.
