I would say Jalen is in really good company for freshmen QBs ...

We have an offensive identity crisis. We need to go back to power football and controlling the clock. Jalen has the arm strength to be a good passer but he needs to be able to get the ball down the field and I think play action after an established run game would help him. I HATE this new offense.

how many teams would have had a winning record with hurts as their qb? there are a couple - maybe KState.
point is - it was that defense that made him look good. sure, he has qualities, but passing isn't one. doesn't mean he can't become a good passer, but then you have to ask - why didn't the staff try to develop him? short passes to the sideline - no down the middle stuff. short or long? kinda like les miles has been doing for years.

Give him 9 read option plays per game and add in 4-5 designed runs and Alabama is your 2016-2017 national champion
