This is my second to last stop to complete the SEC tour. Only have Mizzou left.
Age group 21-25
Looking for info on where to eat, where to drink, and anything in particular to do in Columbia.
Starting the drive Wednesday morning. 36 holes on Wednesday in Alabama.
36 more on Thursday TBD based on weather.
Will be in Columbia Thursday night. Open schedule all day Friday.
Is there a college bar scene near campus?
TIA.

This isn't Columbia information....but if you're a big golfer and burning a few days doing it...Check out the Plantation in Greensboro, GA.

Ive been there and stayed at the Ritz 3 times for a yearly golf trip. They have quite a few courses to choose from. Most of the PGA pros will stay there the week leading up to The Masters and play the courses.
Its quite nice but well worth the cost.
Side note: Ben Rothlesberger(sp) has a home on The Oconee Course. Location of one of his alleged sexual assaults

CIYE should be around sometime with either a link or copy paste. So I'll let him do it. I can't find the thread

You'll want to go to Five Points. It's pretty much on campus and would be better for your age group. I'm still in that age group and will be down there this weekend and I don't feel too old to be down there yet. The other bar scene is the Vista, there's more options for restaurants there and it's a little older crowd.
Places we typically eat down there when me and my friends go back: Rockaway's, Salty Nut, Palmetto Pig, Groucho's (great Sunday hangover food), Andy's Deli. There's a few nicer places in the Vista.
I don't know how the flood has affected these places though, I guess a lot could be closed this weekend if there's too much damage.

Where are you leaving from? Flights out of Nola are a bit too expensive.
So using the money we would have flown with to play golf.

Williams-Brice is off campus, right?

Nola.
I would be flying to Atlanta and meeting up with some people and driving up to the game. I can find flights for a little over $200 still to ATL.
But driving would still be cheaper, obviously. And I don't really care about convenience. Only thing is that my friends that are going are driving back Saturday after the game, so that would be a pretty short trip. I would obviously like to stay Saturday night.

Oh, yellow BBQ.
Really fricked with my mind. Sort of like that time Heinz did that green ketchup shite.
Ive been to a game there, probably the most hospitable fans in the SEC. I went in 2006. CNB says some things are different now, though. We tailgated amongst tin storage buildings or something.
There is a Clemson fan that used to have a large spot for visiting fans to tailgate. CNB or another Cock fan can probably tell you if that area still exists.
