How many teams will the SEC get into the bigger bowl games? Assuming the league bounces back from a down season, at least two will get into the New Year’s Six, and at least one will get into the College Football Playoff.
However, there might not be too many teams available for the New Year’s Six – that means more for the bigger next tier bowls.
Since the Sugar Bowl is a part of the College Football Playoff, the SEC doesn’t have a direct tie-in to the game – although it would be the preferred choice of any SEC team that might get in.
There isn’t a direct pecking order after the best available team going to the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl. It’s mostly about geography and matchups, and the SEC will deliver plenty of options.
