Not that it comes to much surprise, but officials from Bristol Motor Speedway have confirmed that they expect ESPN’s College GameDay to host the “Battle at Bristol” game between Tennessee and Virginia Tech for a Week 2 matchup on Saturday, Sept. 10. “We have a pretty good indication, pretty good feeling, that Kirk Herbstreit and his crew will be in town for College GameDay,” said Ben Trout, the VP of customer service and guest experience at Bristol Motor Speedway. “We feel like that’s going to happen. We’re still waiting on some official confirmation on that.”

Both teams are gearing up to play what’s projected to be the largest attended game in college football history, with over 150,000 seats expected to be filled by kickoff — which is scheduled for primetime (8 p.m. ET) on ABC. “That week is going to be special,” Trout said. “That weekend is going to be incredible.”

They should go ahead and make it rated R, because it will be a slaughter. Don't let the chitlins watch.

Game day goes by venue now instead of biggest game. They always go to that pinstripe thingy when number 12 notre dame plays unranked Boston college. They always hit Seattle for that juggernaut washington team vs those Wildcats of arizona and even hit an ivy league game because....hell I don't know why. This makes perfect sense. If they were playing in Blacksburg,.. nah, game day wouldn't sniff it.

Interesting venue for football, but Bristol is a terrible town.

nothing but methheads in most of the tri-city area, Bristol is no exception. There's nothing around the track for miles in any direction.
