Upvote for the link. Still irrelevant. Im fully aware Texas am offers more in terms of education(depends which field). It doesnt pain me to say that. Im not petrified about our image. The difference between us.

Knowing what you are talking about is what you do for a living?

by TexasAg13 So you're telling me you think companies are valued on revenue?

So I guess a post that simply said Scoreboard would be down voted pretty hard around here?

I just want to take a minute and laugh at the posters discussing profit is more relevant than revenue in college football.
It's ALL about revenue. It's all about winning.
Spend the money you make to make your program a bigger winner on the field.
Who cares how much profit a non-profit organization designed to win football games keeps if they don't win lots and lots of games?!?!?
Spend the cash you collect on making your program more successful on the field. Obviously, Alabama gets it. Others that don't win a lot, don't.

Not true. He's an older gentleman and owns his own one man lawn care company.

An athletic departments general goal is not report more than necessary to cover debt and expenses. ..or maybe report less than expenses if making a big push for fundraising among alumni.
There's also an assumption that all accounting methods are created equally or are applied the same from university to university. (It is not.) Just try and figure out what a reported "subsidy" is if you want to test that theory, they can mean wildly different things. It's intentionally convoluted as hell.
Y'all might as well be arguing over self-reported penis size.

Nobody is arguing about anything except for Aggy. The butthurt is strong with this one.

This is so stupid. I assume you've never heard of EBITDA.
So your logic is a business with $100 million of revenue and a 3% margin is worth more than a business with $50 million of revenue with a 20% margin? Makes sense

Kind of like Aggies bragging about its "graduates making more money," based on self-reporting Payscale.com?
Yeah, sure, we're going to believe an Aggie with massive inferiority issues "self-reporting" his income.

Speaking of massive inferiority issues...

Well, to be fair, your method alone would say Johnny's lawn care with earnings of $500 would be worth more than a 100 million dollar company that lost a little this year because of restructuring.

Would you like me to include historical trends in my example?

Sorry you don't know how the world works. Maybe someday. Again I thought this was your job. Seems pretty suspect that you don't know one of the most common practices in your field.
