SEC: Once again it led the country in attendance and set a record by averaging 78,720 fans per game. Kentucky was up 6 percent after a major stadium renovation. LSU dropped 8 percent, in part due to the South Carolina game being moved to Baton Rouge.

I think what you are seeing is a drop in attendance for all sports college and pros. People just can't afford this type of entertainment right now. They are pricing themselves out from where the normal blue collar worker can't afford to attend. JMO though.

I wonder what the difference was if you take the South Carolina game out

FSU, UF, and Miami do not have real fans. They're all side-walkers that jump from program to program depending on who is relevant at any given time.

Look at Florida's bandwagoneers jumping back on ship. They had to go back to wal mart and replace their recently acquired Florida state tshirts

FSU should have joined the SEC when they had a shot. Even with as much success as they have had, it's hard to get up for Wake, and Duke, and BC and the like coming into your house. ACC football sucks

Shouldn't this be "more than"

Less than -1% means it dropped by MORE than 1%

I think it depends on the context. If you view the -1% as a representation of a hard number (5,100, etc) and +/- as increased/decreased, then it reads correctly. It dropped by less than x.

A&M doesn't care if the stadium is filled, they just need it to be bigger than UT's.

The OP's numbers are reflective of paid tickets. If it was possible to use actual butts in the stands numbers, all schools would show a lot more significant drop as well.

I think our drop is mainly due to a poor home schedule this year. We played crap teams like Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, and LSU at home. Our big games such as Florida and Alabama were on the road.

UGA - 0%

Pretty standard Georgia fans. Never making it to the big game, always still supporting the team.

Yeah.

Not "less than negative one percent" but "less than one percent drop"

I'm just being weird.

You have no clue.

When it comes to fans jumping on and jumping off the bandwagon:
Miami has the greatest flux, not even close.
FSU has some but not as much as people think. Nole fans are dumbarses but they pretty much keep their dumbarse covered by FSU gear.
UF has very few, probably the same as UT would have if they hired a real coach and stopped blowing 4th quarter leads.
