Maybe they're too fat and slow and that's why they call so many fouls... To get a break?

OH MY GOD frick KING KARL HESS

Although everyone can thank Wake for ending his reign. He said something fricked up to one of our big boosters sitting court side and the ACC cut his balls off.

Since the rule changes a couple of years ago, everything is now a foul. When in doubt, call a foul.

This x100. I used to watch pretty much any college basketball game, now I watch the Hogs and that's it until tourney time.

The UGA Florida game was a fricking travesty on both sides. Felt like they had it out for Yante Maten; 4 of 5 fouls were ticky tack offensive bullshite

It's the rule changes from a couple years ago meant to increase scoring. Defense is penalized.

Give me a number of fouls called for the State/ Kentucky game. I will say close to 50. A team can't even get into a rhythm without a whistle getting blown. You can't even block out on a rebound.

To clarify: Coaches are on the rules committees and they are the ones who changed the rules. The idea behind the rules were to discourage hard defense and increase offense productivity. Scoring is up the last 2 seasons since the rule changes. BUT, its from increased foul shooting. This makes the game very hard to watch and boring. Have 'cleaned' up the game by dragging it out longer for TV.

College referees hate the rule changes BTW.

I'm going to take a guess, was Teddy Valentine an official during that game?

It prepares them for the NBA I see. I think they are cutting out dribbling.

I'm gonna so no because he has hair. We had a foul every 40 seconds, on average

Saw a Reddit comment today that said "if you're a ref with a nickname, you're doing something wrong"

Made me laugh

Excellent guess. Turned out to be 52. The last three Kentucky games have had 143 fouls called. Its damn near unwatchable.

I actually felt bad for MS's center the guy in the mask. I think maybe one of his 5 fouls was actually a foul.

I love basketball, but it's fricking ridiculous. If a guy misses a layup and there's a defender within 10 feet of him, it's a foul every time. And there are no "no calls" anymore. If two players touch, one of them is getting called for a foul. They've turned basketball into a free throw shooting contest, and that sucks. Especially this year when Bama is unbelievably bad at shooting free throws.
