His throw to Ridley against Florida was let go at the 35 and was caught inside the 5 with a man in his face. 70 yard bomb in pads, in a game, with s guy in his face. Cannon

To be honest, Lane Kiffin must do a really good job developing qb's as the season progresses. Sims looked shaky early for Bama last season and the same with Coker.

I wish LSU could develop talent like that.

No one has ever questioned Jake's arm strength. It's his release and decision to pull the trigger that he's got to work on.

His TD pass to Mullaney was an absolute rocket.

35 to 5
50 - 35 = 15
50 - 5 = 45
45 + 15 = 60
60 yards = 70 yard bomb in pads?

What's weird is nearly ever game, in the first and second quarter, and sometimes at the start of the third quarter, he'll throw off his back foot with no extreme pressure on him. Many of his best plays are off scrambles, or with him moving.

+ 5 step drop = 75 yard bomb in pads

he said ball was released from the 35, not snapped from the 35. release from the 35 and caught at the 5 is a 60 yard throw.

Right. What I meant to say was the ball didn't travel in a straight line, so the actual distance was 70 yards traveled. Forget about the thing I said about the 5 step drop. Just a joke.

You aren't calculating the distance added because of arc. Joke's on you!

He threw it from the far hash to the near as well, probably adds approximately another 27 yards to the throw. You're talking 102 yards in the air when all is said and done.

It looks weird when he loads up. Takes a while. Probably why he is late at times.

The ball should have been released immediately but he waited just a sec

It looks like a trebuchet when he throws lol

Don't forget that the ball travels in a parabola, not a straight line. That probably adds another 48 yards to make it a 150 yard rocket.

And if I remember correctly, there was a strong wind and a stiff dew. Take those away and that pass travels 180 yards on a rope, EASILY.

60 yard bomb that needed to be 70 because he threw it late. Fortunately Ridley is a stud. Cooper light.

Jeremy Johnson has NFL arm strength, but has HS accuracy. That is the problem with Coker. Kiffin did a good job of limiting the damage of that accuracy, something Gus could not do.
