Just wondering. I can see the OBC hanging up his visor in a year or 2.
Malzahn:
- SEC savy
- Good offense
- "Family" man lol
- Success on offense at every school he's been at
- Knows how to recruit the south
Just wondering if yall would like to give hm a shot, or if he is still too young for you.

Malzahn might end up with the Cocks from Jacksonville State, but a USCe-level job is still at least 5-7 years away from him.

OBC is in for another 3 years at least. And by that time, sure, Malzahn will probably be ready to move up to a head coach spot.
Not sure if "the too young for you" comment is serious or a comment on our history of hiring veteran football coaches. If you are serious, he might be too young, but who knows. His ability to put together an innovative offense is unquestioned -- that doesn't mean he is ready to be a head coach yet.
Our next head coach will most likely be a young guy. The former AD hired old warhorses like Spurrier, Holtz and Odom. The new guy, Eric Hyman, hires young stars like Darrin Horn and Dawn Staley (women's basketball). It's possible Ellis Johnson may take over, but more likely that someone younger such as G.A. Mangus or Gus Malzahn would get the nod. I would say Mangus if the program wins an SEC championship under Spurrier and is viewed as having arrived. If the program still struggles with 6-8 win seasons, then it will be new blood like Malzahn, Gary Patterson (Hyman was AD at TCU) or some up and comer mid-major head coach we haven't heard of yet.

I think Gary Patterson will make a great hire for someone one day soon. Hopefully he's not in the SEC.
