Really? Tuberville was untouchable til he lost to who? Many here will agree with the statement that a struggling Auburn coach can save his job by beating Alabama.

The War Boogers are all about beating Bama and not much else.

So untouchable that he was almost fired after 2003.

Lol Yall are on quite a run right now but the world doesn't revolve around Bama.

Gus wins 8 games and he holds on to his job.

Didn't know being prepared for your shitty FG kicker was a miracle.

Les Miles..Les has to beat Bama at home and win the West, or I think they get him this time. I like Les I hate it but I believe it to be true.
I know your eyes are brown from the backflow. Les will be here as long as he wants.

Not in any particular order:

Les Miles - needs to win the west OR beat Bama and be competitive in the west. Otherwise I could see the move being made. Fournette is gone after this season, so he had better ride that horse while he can.

Butch Jones - needs to win the East. He won't get fired for not making it to Atlanta, but finishing 2nd or worse in the east, especially if that includes losses to Bama and Florida, his seat will be scorching hot for 2017.

Gus Malzahn - Needs to win at least 9 regular season games, and one of those 9 has to be out of the LSU/Georgia/Bama group. If he wins 8 he may come back in 2017 but will be dangling right above the open flame. Six or 7 win season, with no improvement on offense, probably results in a change.

Derek Mason - Not really sure here. Franklin proved you could win at Vandy, and Mason isn't. Vandy admins may be a little more lenient though and give him another couple of years to see if he improves.

"Beat Bama this year" would be a stupid litmus test for any coach. Alabama is in the middle of a historic dynasty with one of the most talented rosters ever assembled. You can't judge your coach on whether they win that game in any given year.

Spot on. The knock on Les Miles should be more how his team has folded AFTER that game. Bama is just too fricking good right now.

It won't help Malzahn that he will get the ever loving shite kicked out of him in game 1. When you start the season with a brutal arse raping, it doesn't bode well.

Sumlin is on thin ice. If he has more than 3 losses by mid-October, he's gone.

I agree. Who are your top candidates to replace him?

I will go with

Freeze
Patterson
Herman
Morris

Les must win a minimum of 8 regular season games. And at least one of Ole Miss or Bama in TS. Less than that and he's gone.

Freeze is not going to TAMU. He's gonna play his hand out with a good returning team, and a 5-star QB coming up through his system.

Texas is probably the only program that could pull Freeze under current circumstances.
