Haven't had a chance to watch Clemson play this year. How does their D look? Do they have depth on their d line? What about the secondary? TIA

We put up 32 point with a walk on QB.

21st in scoring defense at 21.1 ppg
6th in passing defense at 173 ypg
24th in rushing defense at 130 ypg
Tied with Alabama in INTs per game
8th in sacks per game at 3.1

They seem to be trending in the wrong direction, though. I will say, what they've done on defense is remarkable after losing 8 starters from last year's team.

not sure about their depth but they are solid. I think Bama has a good shot by spreading them out a bit and running up the middle. I'd like Henry's chances with just a little bit of space. Keep the chains moving, force Clemson to at least acknowledge a passing game, and Bama should be able to control the clock.

Where's Jamie Lannister? I'm sure he will tell you how they've played the best offenses and how having a lake makes their defense the best. Other than that, refer to USC hanging 32 on them,

It isn't always pretty, but Coker, Ridley, and Stewart can get it done if and when they absolutely have to. It's not consistent, but they make their big plays throughout games.

Its pretty good. Clemson leaves the corners out on islands a lot and brings a ton of pressure. DE Shaq Lawson leads the nation in TFL. Interior line has decent depth with true freshman Christian Wilkins really playing well. Depth has been an issue later in the season but hopefully rest helps. Linebackers are good run stuffers but can be susceptible in coverage

Haven't seen much of them myself but statistically by S&P+ they are ranked sixth nationally. For comparison Alabama is first with Oklahoma and Michigan State virtually even at 12 and 13 (though looking at the individual components Oklahoma seems to have the edge).

Why worried about Clemson's D? Hate to say it, but Oklahoma has been playing better than any other team in football recently. I think they are going to boat race Clemson.

Their defense doesn't seem as good as it was earlier in the year. My guess is depth. Still a lot of talent. Venables is a helluva coach. Has those players in the right position to make plays. Oh, and frick Clemson.

We'll see how good OU's defense is now that they have to play a starting QB. I'm guessing Climpson by 10.

one of their DBs has to sit out the first half of the OU game.

I watched Clemson play most of FSU, some of ND, some of USC and some of the UNC game. They are big, strong and fast.

They are a deserving playoff team like the other 3.

Clemson reminds me a lot of 2010 auburn, but with a slightly better defense and a good but not-cam-newton qb.

Clemson vs. Oklahoma has the potential to be a race to 60.

While Oklahoma seemingly has the better defense, Big Bob and his toothless brother always seem to forget one aspect of the game in bowl games that matter.

Aside from fan bragging rights, do bowl games that don't determine the national championship matter?

Alabama destroying Michigan State in the Capital One Bowl meant as much as Oklahoma destroying Alabama 3 years later in the Sugar Bowl - nothing.

Your attempt at being cheeky only shows how misinformed, naïve or simply stupid due to a lack of educated response you are.

Try again after you have thought about for a while.

Yes but what teams/offenses were those stats generated against?
