This match up bothers the hell out me. They are very SEC like team, the try to beat you on the O-line and D-Line. They have a very solid offense with play makers who impact the way you play defense. Dabo doesn't get enough credit for in game adjustments and understanding the pulse of a game. I think turnovers and a special team play might win the game.

It will be close, but I think BAMA starts to pull away late 3rd quater.

... and our worst SCAR team in 15 years only lost to them by 5.

WTF Bama fans? Buck up. If y'all sissy out on this game and don't pull your boys through you lose your fricking man cards.

All you have to do is contain Watson, plain and simple. It can be done with the talent you have. Dabo is known for "Clemsoning" for a reason.

Make it happen.

Watson will not be as productive as he has before running the ball. That will disrupt the Clemson offense and Bama should win by 10 or more.

Bama's front 7 will destroy any hope Clemson has of keeping it competitive. Bama's O will eventually figure it out and win by at least 2 tds.

Watson and Gallman is the best QB/RB tandem Bama has faced this year. Dak had no RB threat to help take the pressure off. Dobbs did, but isn't as good a passer. Auburn would've been better off running the wildcat. We're about to find out how good this defense really is.

Meh.

Allen and Collins is pretty damn good. Clemson won't run on Alabama with running backs.

Watson will have to win the game.

I think there will be a lot of back and forth in the game.....sort of testing each other out. I think it'll be very low scoring in the 1st two quarters....similar to MSU.

What gets overlooked when the "bama has trouble with a mobile QB narrative" is that our DLine does a lot of damage only rushing 4, freeing the LB's up for coverage. I think we'll spy Watson all game and our defense allows us to do so without giving up other big plays. I think we'll see 2 deep safeties for most of the game as well, just like MSU. It's up to the corners to make plays.

I think Saban and Smart will be willing to give up the intermediate throws all game in anticipation of Watson making a mistake at some point to turn the game around.

Simple plan. Keep them from hitting the big plays and win the turnover battle. We do that, we win......and I think we have the capability of doing so. The game worries me......but I would be surprised if we didn't pull it out.

I was thinking in terms of HUNH/spread offenses. Bama shuts down one dimensional offenses, most of the time. Clemson isn't one dimensional.

This defense is a different breed of cat. Clemson will be smothered. There will come a time in the second half when they quit. Don't be such a pansy. Turn on the Bama tape. No one is beating Alabama right now

Agree with scrooster - Clemsons SEC experiance this year was South Carolina and they lost by 5 in a game where Clemson likes to pour it on! Beat that arse Bama you won the Sec now represent! Bama by 28. It goes with the SEC bowl record this year and it's fitting so finish this big. You beat 5 of 6 sec west opponants and 3 east opponants of the teams you beat in conference they are 7-2! The acc bowl record that Clemson schedule went through isn't near as impressive now is it!

i have no doubt we will win this easily. take away watson running and they have nothing. he will make some passes and score some points, but bama has shown that if you try to take away the run game from us you will get raped through the air and vice versa. we are too complete to shut down. on defense we can afford to only rush 4 on 95% of downs, which lets us get creative. we would be able to put a full time spy on watson while not constantly putting the CBs on islands. if we dont turn it over we will win easily, and we have been so much better on that front that second half of the year (we are now top 25 in turnover margin, the vast majority of out 17 TOs came in the early part of the season). We are +9, they are -1 on the year. Drake finally looks healthy, and thats big. he gives us that change of pace and lethal receiving threat out of the back field. coker has played lights out the 2nd half of the season and is only getting better. ridley is the next cooper. we have the best dline in maybe all of college football history, we have the best LB corp in the country, and the secondary is night and day from last year.

Eh, Alabama was supposed to steamroll Ohio State last year, too.

Regrardless, it will be a fight. You should expect every game to be a fight, whether it's Clemson in the National Championship game or Coastal Carolina in week 1.

I am hanging my hopes on reports of Clemson having a rebuil OL this year with a true freshman at tackle.

Bama tries to make opposing offenses one dimensional, and does so by trying to take away what the opposing offense wants to do. With Clemson, it will be the zone read, just like Mississippi State. They'll try to make Watson make plays from the pocket, which he is very capable of doing. The luxury of this Bama defense is they can create QB pressure by just rushing 4. That frees up the LB and secondary to clamp down on the passing routes.

The game hinges on whether or not Clemson can get the zone read working enough to loosen up the Bama defense.

I liked the matchup against Michigan State much better. But you don't get to play pushovers in the championship game, and the one thing I feel sure about is that this Bama team will come with the A game.

Does Clemson have any injured players? I saw Lawson got hurt against Oklahoma.

I just love hearing from some of these Clemson fans who think we're desperate or something because we're pulling for Alabama in this match-up. You do realize that we're in a huge arse rivalry with you, right? You also realize that in these rivalries, you don't particularly pull for your rival to win, like...ever, right?

So I don't get it, why is it such a shocker that we're not pulling for you again? We don't like each other, so of course neither of us are going to pull for the other team. It'd be the exact same if Clemson were in our shoes.
