LSU beat 4 top 20 teams and went undefeated

AU beat 0 and tied GT.

Iowa tied one to air force and lost one to OSU. Their schedule was brutal, but I fail to see how either of you can claim 58 over LSU.

I'd swap the 41 for 66. But since we can't I'm fine with keeping it just to keep the total number right.

Put us down for 6 titles. 7 if you want to count our 2002 13-1 team

I'm sure you use that same logic when Alabama and 1966 is brought up.

And keeping in mind Alabama
Was the two time defending national champs and there was no tie in 66 for Alabama either.

Absolutely, baw. 1966 for Bama it is
In a system with no championship game, professional wrestling rules apply. You own the belt until you lose, doesn't matter what somebody else does.

1945 - 10-0

1966 - 11-0 (Would have been 3 in a row)

1977 - 11-1 (Would have been the 1st title in a string of 3 in a row)

1960: Mizzou went undefeated (11-0) and won the Big 8 Conference (now the Big 12). They also won the Orange Bowl over #4 ranked Navy. Missouri was named the National Champion by the Poling System

Very misleading.Missouri lost on the field to Kansas in Columbia, 23-7. Later in 1961 the Big 8 made a decision to have Kansas forfeit two games, including Missouri for using what amounted to an ineligible player, that Kansas maintained they addressed at the time and had the league's blessing.

You are attempting to claim a retroactive title based on a retroactive win.

I know someone like 'Likenhous' or whomever voted Georgia NC, but at 8-0-2 and a 16-2 loss to Arkansas in the Sugar would you really want to claim it over unbeaten Ohio State and Penn State?

Agreed. By the end of the year we were the best team. We waxed the Big 12 champ and beat the SEC champ and eventual national champ on their own field.

The 1964 National Title is claimed by the university and also recognized by the NCAA's website.

1965 Arkansas was also recognized as National Champion
1977 Arkansas was also recognized as National Champion

Is is the answer

That depends on what your definition of is is.

NCAA doesn't "officially" recognize, but NCAA wesite lists national champions

That doesn't even make sense.

The NCAA officially recognizes Div I football championships (as evidenced on their website), they just don't award them.
