leaving out any stats that make Guice look better

Career yards per carry:

I mean, you're doing the exact same thing.

UGA fans want to blame Chub's season last year on his 2015 injury but don't seem to want to apply the same logic to Guice's first half of this season. Wonder why.

His injury definitely matters. It is not as damaging of a long term injury as Chubb's was, but I'm sure it has hurt his season so far. He looks to be getting back to full health, but I'm not sure how much of that was just from playing Ole Miss. It's the same thing with Chubb against UNC last year. I don't think most UGA fans watched that game and thought Chubb had the same top gear he did before his gruesome injury.

Does Chubb go before round 3?

He's getting late first/early second round projections right now so, yeah.

I wish it was just an ACL tear. Was a dislocated knee with 3 different ligament tears.

Yeah it was horrible and he is lucky that he ever got to play again. One of the worst injuries I have seen other than what happened to Billy 'White Shoes' Johnson that played for the Falcons ages ago.

He didn't get hit or anything. Was just running down the field and the entire inside of his knee exploded. It was like a bomb went off in it. Unfortunately medicine was not the same in those days and he never played again.

You guys are saying that Williams and Brosette are not very good

No one is saying Williams isn't good. You don't need to make things up to make a point.

Guice has 3 games in his career of greater than 250 yards
Chubb has none

Guice will probably get another 250 yard game later this year against Tennessee, that will make 4

Not saying that Chubb is not a great back, but he ain't all that.

I think you are missing the point of this thread & discussion...

Well, AP was multiple ligaments too actually....

He also had arguably the best recovery ever for a running back with that injury, along with the best resources in the nation as a pro player.

Not sure it's necessarily fair to compare the two recoveries.

And by the way....you know Gurley is ahead of Fournette in rushing, right?
Hmmmmmm

Fournette: 99.3 yards per game on 4.58 yards per carry

Gurley: 89.6 yards per game on 4.32 yards per carry

What the hell are you talking about

Well Fournette didn't play yesterday, so that's not 100% fair.

yeah, that's kind of the point. It's not hard to frame an argument to fit whatever narrative you're trying to push. Deeprig was upset Guice had an incredible game Saturday, so he chose what stats to use to downplay what Guice did.

quote:

He looks to be getting back to full health, but I'm not sure how much of that was just from playing Ole Miss

Concerning how close to healthy he is, I'm less focused on how many yards he got but more so how he moved. He was not making sharp cuts like that and did not have the burst he had Saturday. It's been getting progressively better the past few weeks. I still think he was a hair slower than he is at 100% (I don't think Ole Miss catches him on 2 of those runs at 100%).

Yep. And we led it off with a completely false statement

Fournette leads in yards per game, yards per carry, and touchdowns per game

So...... you are admitting that Chubb has to rest up to play FLA and that it's a BIG GAME?

Yes. I was saying it's not 100% fair to say Gurley is leading the NFL in rushing when Fournette didn't play yesterday.

eta: I think Gurley does have more yards from scrimmage per game, but they're both top 5 RBs in the NFL right now.

So the OP is basically saying that LF7 backup for 2 years is slightly > Nick Chubb?

I'll allow it.

I believe we would have called that jumping the shark up until this past off season... now that has a totally different connotation.

For a second, I couldn't figure out if it was a McElwain joke or an Ole Miss joke. Either way

Everytime the secondary Tigers compare their players to a UGA player the UGA player always turns out to be 100% better. Gurley, Chubb, Roquan.

Didn't make it up. A poster (You?) said they were not getting the job done. I'll try to find it.
Regardless, don't try to pretend they are getting the touches that Michel and Swift are.
