The fact that fournette has been able to better take the punishment therefore be on the field more therefore being able to help his team makes him the better player in my mind.
Now we're grasping at straws.

people also tend to overlook the fact chubb was running against alabama in an absolute downpour monsoon, while lf had a perfectly crisp playing surface.

Nope I maintain this argument in every sports
People say that Tiger Woods would've been the best had he not got hurt but the simple answer is he did get hurt.
The great ones dont get hurt and that's why they are great.

We all agree fournette was better once Chubb got hurt. Major yardage disparity there.

There was a major yardage and TD disparity before Chubb got hurt too, for the 2015 season at least.

So....Mickey Mantle was not great? he got injured quite a bit. Sandy Koufax? Ken Griffey, Jr.? The argument has holes in it....and can we just let this thread die a horrible, painful death?
I keep getting sucked into it by poor statements being made.
ETA
You really don't think Tiger Woods is/was a great golfer?

"Major" doesn't mean what you think it means:
Fournette had 32 more total rushing yards on 0.2 more ypc.

You should try again. Fournette had 1022 yards and 12 TDs through the first 5 games of 2015. Chubb had 745 and 7.

Even Nancy Kerrigan?
Or how about Tom Brady? He got hurt once. So did Peyton Manning. Ben Roethlisberger has been hurt before. So has Kevin Durant and Steph Curry. Are they not great?
See how that argument is bullshite?

Through September:
73 carries 631 yards 8.64 ypc 8 tds
71 carries 599 yards 8.44 ypc 7 tds
The next week was bama for Chubb and eastern Michigan for fournette, which doesn't really tell us anything.

So rather than first 5 games, you'd rather count first 4 for Chubb and first 3 for Fournette and consider that fair?
You have to be one of the worst cherry pickers of stats that I've ever seen. It's kind of sad.

Despite an extra game, the number of carries were near equal, thus giving us apples to apples. A 2 carry differential clearly offers up the most fair comparison.

Nancy Kerrigan accidents are the exception bc it was a freak non-sporting related injury.
And no athletes are allowed to get injured HOWEVER I never buy the "oh well if he hadn't gotten hurt argument".
My point in this case is the the fact that LF7 was on the field while chubb wasn't makes him better. You can't say well if chubb had not gotten hurt he'd be better than LF7. The fact that he did get hurt and is not as durable at position that takes a beating makes LF7 the better more desirable back.

Why does comparable number of carries matter now but not when you push Chubb's overall YPC?
Seriously, your skewing of stats is s joke.
ETA: Not to mention that EMU shouldn't count for Fournette but Chubb's numbers against a FCS team are perfectly acceptable.

Simply Getting more carries doesn't necessarily make a rb better. It just means they got more Carries out of necessity due to no credible backup rb, which pads overall stats. Lsu fans like you have made the same point often when comparing Henry and fournette, so you know the point is credible. Funny you are trying to argue against it now. Makes you look like a hypocrite.

Are you sure you have room to talk? October 3rd was Chubb vs best d in nation and fournette vs the worst rush d in the nation. No wonder you wanted to include that date.

Take them out if competition matters then. If that's the case you have to take out Chubb's game vs. the FCS team while Fournette played Syracuse. Fair is fair, right?
ETA: Here are the numbers using your cherry picked criteria of September and no bad teams:
Fournette: 73 for 631. 8 TDs.
Chubb: 56 for 468. 4 TDs.
I wonder how we need to change it now?
