Either way Chubb had more than 4x more yards against Bama.
My entire point is neither was effective against Alabama. Saying "Fournette was ineffective too" is 100% true. It doesn't change the fact that Chubb wasn't anything special in that game, however.
I'm honestly not sure why that's so hard for UGA fans to admit.

Chubb- 1400-1600 yds 12-15 Tds
LF7- 1600-1800 yds 18-22 Tds
LF7- 1600-1800 yds 18-22 Tds

Both are amazing, the difference to me is that when Fournette breaks it he's gone. His top end speed separates them. I think their freshmen year Chubb came in understanding football better and was a better player. Now though I think the hype is worth it for LF7 and there's a reason he's the favorite for the Heisman.

And the fact that he will absolutely maul over you. juke you, stiff arm you , and run around you. The dude is special. Chubb is good but Fournette is a special back. That's the difference

This thread is so stupid Everytime...every analyst that scouts football for a living would take LF over chub

In 2014, Chubb was Todd Gurley's backup, and wasn't the starter until Gurley's autograph scandal, Keith Marshall tore ACL, and Sony broke his hand. Chubb was 4th string freshman going into 2014.
In 2015, Chubb was sidelined with a torn everything and missed half of the season.
Despite these facts, Chubb is still neck and neck with college football's latest media darling, Leonard Fournette.
You used yard per rush as an argument and these two things you mention are a major way to help an average statistic. Fournette has over 100 more career carries than Chubb this is a big stat to show when you are talking about an average statistic.

There's a reason LF will be drafted way ahead of Chubb. Because he is better.

The simple fact that LF7 has never gotten hurt and Chubb has to me makes Fournette a better back.

You would have a decent point if Chubb had the same history of inconsistency as fournette does, but he doesn't.

Chubb is a wonderful back. He's not as good as Fournette, though. You will see when the NFL draft rolls around.

So Stafford was better than tebow by your logic. Cool!

quote:Fournette has better top end speed, but not by much. Other than that both have great tackle breaking ability and I would say Chubb has the better balance of the two and has superior feet work than Fournette. I would even argue Chubb's footwork is better than Gurley, which is saying something since Gurley > Fournette and Chubb.

One could argue that Fournette is a liability in the passing game (lack there of) so that could potentially hinder his draft stock, although I think it would be stupid of a team to do that though. Both are studs but it just seems what one would prefer. I really think Fournette is faster, but Chubb much better footwork and balance. Breaking tackles would be a wash as both are elite at it, you really can't say one is better than the other. If Chubb never gets hurt on that shite field, I would of LOVED to see how the draft would of shook out between the two. However, you still can't use the draft as a indicator of who is better, and if you legitimately think that is a good point, then you are fricking retard.

Both Chubb and Fournette can do the same thing run guys over, break tackles, juke opponents, etc. So for people to go back n forth on this is like arguing whats better pizza or cheeseburgers. And for people using the future draft stock argument, well its hard for any RB to get drafted higher than what Trent Richardson did and we all know how that turned out. However, I love when you guys try to use their performances against Bama as a barometer, god its good to be a Bama fan

I personally think Fournette us a tad better than Chubb. Yes, I am a die hard LSU fan so maybe my opinion can't be taken seriously. But I'd like to think if Chubb and Fournette both played on a team that I didn't give a shite about I'd still think Fournette is a little bit better. Fournette is faster and more powerful, I don't think anyone can dispute that really. I agree with you on the footwork part with Chubb. That's what makes him elite in my opinion. Both have great balance. Both are great backs but I put LF7 a little ahead of Chubb. I do think Chubb will transition to the NFL better than LF7 though if he can stay healthy.
