I was reading this article by Chip Towers LINK
He wrote that Georgia was coming in as the lower-ranked team. Well, I thought it was just a brainfart and he meant to write higher-ranked team, but then he wrote that Georgia was the lower ranked team again.

Our number is smaller than Bama's. Some people refer to that as the lower rank, not the higher rank.

That would denote he is confused. Since 1 is ranked at the top(high) of the polls and not the bottom(low).
