Possible landing spots:

I count as many as six SEC schools who may look at Kelly as the guy to revitalize their program or as a big-name guy who could go toe-to-toe with Nick Saban: Texas A&M, Tennessee, Auburn, Arkansas, and even LSU and Florida.

LSU would seem less likely, but you better believe that Kelly’s name will come up if Ed Orgeron doesn’t get off to a hot start. LSU hired Orgeron after striking out on two big-name hires and before Kelly was let go by the Niners. They also gave Orgeron a contract that would be politely described as “easy to get out of” and it’s not crazy to see them moving on sooner than later if they feel someone better is available.

Chip Kelly has little interest left in college and even less interest in the SEC. The schools may want to go toe to toe with Saban but big name coaches don't.

I doubt we'd give O less than a year to prove himself

Besides, we have at least 100 guys on this board that know everything there is to know about football. Probably a few NFL caliber coaches posting from their boxer shorts on any given Saturday.

Chip Kelly in the SEC would be a disaster.

Only place he could possibly fit in is Mizzou. There's no where else he would fit in culturally, and he wouldn't keep up with the recruiting expectations of the big SEC programs.

Exactly why we wouldn't want him.

I really think if he is eyeing any spot in SEC that it would be aTm. Talent rich state and deep pocket resources. They are used to running his HUNH type system and it would not be a big overhaul. Sumlin is on his last link of the leash this year.

If Kelly goes to aTm then where does Chief go? He is already on record that he does not like a HUNH offense wearing out his defense.
