The former Auburn superstar said Thursday on The Dan Patrick Show that his Tigers are view themselves as inadequate thanks to Saban's success at Alabama. “We have an inferiority complex because the greatest football coach in history is over in Tuscaloosa,” Barkley said.

“I think Nick Saban is the greatest college football coach in history over there in Tuscaloosa. But Auburn is the greatest school. Once you go there, you are a part of a family, a fraternity. Even when I got back now, it’s the most amazing thing.

He did make sure to throw fambly in there to ease the sting. Y'all will always have that, Auburn.

What's the company line? Alabama people love Alabama football and Auburn people love Auburn?

I agree with all that he said. What Saban is doing is nothing short of amazing and it is the best stretch in the history of college football bar none. And a big problem with coaches being "put on hot seats" so fricking fast is because everyone is comparing to what Alabama is able to do right now.

If you read the Auburn board though, the majority say that you can't worry about what Saban is doing and that we just have to weather the storm until he retires.

Charles Barkley can barely construct a coherent sentence.

As a Bama fan with many ventures to both Tuscaloosa and Auburn, the city of Auburn >>> Tuscaloosa.

There's no comparison.

I don't recall comparing the two.

For a 40 year old with kids I agree btw. As a college aged male I'd prefer Tuscaloosa

I guess I can somewhat understand AU fans putting Bama/Saban on the back burner and just waiting for him to hang up his whistle. But AU's "storm" has nothing to do with Alabama. Because Nick Saban is not the reason that over the last decade AU sits at 2-8 vs UGA, 3-7 vs LSU, 5-5 vs Arky.

I'd agree with this. If I had kids, I'd prefer Auburn since I don't have any and don't plan to have any, I prefer Tuscaloosa.

Auburn is a family friendly town, with salt of the earth folks.

I'm sure it's a fine place to raise kids and the school system is good enough that you aren't forced to fork out damn near $15,000/yr per kid for fricking private school like we're forced to do in Montgomery.

Barkley also talks about how many teeth female Bama fans have. He is not afraid to express what he thinks of the bammers, but he does love him some Saban.

Yeah. That "school meme" has been going around for years. Don't believe everything you hear. Look for yourself.

The Montgomery schools and mobile schools are ridiculous. It's an arms race on tuition prices. My cousin went to Trinity in Montgomery and I think it was expensive but considerably less than St. James and "The" Montgomery Academy

The public schools in those counties are terrible though
