The committee had their minds made up weeks ago. They wanted OSU vs Bama and dropped OSU behind Clemson to make that happen. They did the same thing last year dropping OU to 4. It's all about the money title game.

Penn State only has 2 high- quality wins and also has 2 losses. They lost to a 4-loss Pitt team and lost by 39 points to Michigan.
I agree with the logic, but if the motivation for establishing the entire CFP in the first place was to keep another Bama vs. LSU championship game situation from happening, then this selection proves that they (the Biggie10) are full of shite and really only care about getting a piece of the pie (which is the truth).

Committees a joke
No justification for osu or washington being in ahead of penn state.

Now they've opened pandora's box

Big 10 is over ranked, no penalty for losing to other big 10 teams it seems

I agree with the 4. OSU went out and played Oklahoma. Its high risk/high reward. You get a leg up on the other teams when you get those big OOC wins. Those will also give you more leeway if you do lose a game.

Want to play rent-a-wins for your OOC? Thats fine, but you better be perfect in your conference.

When, where? Who said this? link.

No, the motivation behind this was a huge groundswell from Delaney of the Big 10 to have inclusion in the playoffs.

The ONLY people that thought Bama should't be in were LSU and Okie State fans. Folks from all over the country voted dawg and Bama was a SOLID number 2 and had been for 3 weeks. Iowa state loss, the Iowa state loss.

"It's not really a great scenario," Alabama coach Nick Saban said Sunday evening when asked about the Gators' likely leap-frogging the loser of the SEC title game for a BCS bowl bid. "You play your way into the championship game, which means you're the best team in your division. It doesn't see quite right.

Saban didn't seem to have a problem with it during the 2011 Mulligan bowl

One of those top 4 teams doesn't have something in common with the others, a conference championship. Couple that with the fact that Penn St. beat OSU head to head and I don't agree with the committee's logic.

....AND couple this with Penn State the losing to PITT and not looking good and getting blown out by Mich. Blown the frick out. Gotta look at losses and who they were to as well as wins.

People always want to blame somebody else. Don't lose to sorry arse Pitt and you are in. Michigan game is forgivable. Pitt is uuuuuuugly.

Washington played Rutgers,Idaho, Portland State in the non conference.

Washington is only team in top 10 whose opponents have a losing record.

If Penn State had not lost to Pitt, they would probably be in.

Then why is UW in? Or was tOSU left out last year?

Different committee, I'm guessing...there's been some turnover, including the chairman. Last year tOSU was loaded but was ranked behind a 2-loss conference champ (Stanford) in the final poll...this year they were ranked ahead...wonder how last year's committee, or the 2014 one, would've voted this year...

People complained years ago about a two loss NC winner in LSU. Now y'all are bitching that Penn State doesn't get into the CFP. I'm shocked. I thought they deserved a shot but I can't totally ignore that they lost an extra game. That's big.

My point is Penn State lost to Pitt because they played a decebt team and lost.

Wasington didnt even play a top 60 team in the OOC schedule.

Bama played USC
Ohio State played OU
Clemson played Auburn
Penn State played Pitt
Michigan played Colorado
Wisconsin played LSU

Washington only one in top 10 that didnt play a good team

Wait a couple more years when the sec has completely collapsed and they get left out because whoever wins doesn't play anyone. You will be on here complaining that it sucks.

I think teams should just schedule bad as they can in the OOC and only drop one in conference.

It got Washington in this year.
