Mike and Mike made a comment this morning that interested me. For the record, I think they got this right by putting OSU in, but I still think the committee is a bad idea.

If it was Texas rather than Baylor, and Oklahoma rather than TCU, would this have played out exactly the same way? Would both of these big name schools be dropped for OSU.

I say no. If this were the case there's no way the committee moves OSU over Texas. It's basically a popularity contest at the end of the day, and with a panel of human beings the bigger named programs are always going to get the nod in this situation IMO.

The Big12 screwed both TCU and Baylor. Instead of putting full support behind one, they split it up and hurt both. That being said, I'd put TCU against any playoff team. Could you imagine an Oregon-TCU point fest

Yep and not having a championship game hurt them too.

Would probably be different. Consider that Texas and Oklahoma might not have had a game that ended 61-58, too.
