No. There is no such requirement. Vandy hasn't been the CBS Game of the Week in years.

Oh must of been mistaken.

I'm on that Dawg on Dawg action this weekend (after we beat 'Cuse).

I'm to the point where I can't confidently say "when" but "If" we win.

Yea...very weird for them to pick this over Georgia vs Miss State.

I think national interest is more on Bama vs Vandy in a sense though because everyone wants to see a Cinderella story. So ratings may benefit a little more I guess? Don't know...I'm not a multi billion dollar TV company. What do I know lol

I believe CBS has to show 6 Bama games so I assume they thought Vandy was a better matchup tha ATM and Arkansas

I thought every team has to be on CBS at least once over period of time and the limit is 6 per year for a single team.

This is a good opportunity for Vandy to be on CBS and if they win what a melt down that will create. Doubtful but you never know?

I think CBS has 2 times annually that they can delay their decision on which games they are airing, but otherwise they have to announce it at least 8 days in advance (last Friday). CBS assumed that LSU would handle business against MSU so they went with the Bama v Vandy game, knowing they'd be getting a big audience.

If they'd have exercised the 6 day clause they'd have chosen UGA v MSU for sure, but they're holding that 6 day option until later in season (November/sweeps).

You think CBS is going to go 1/3 of the season without showing the top-ranked, highest ratings-generating team in America even once?

If Bama vs Vandy is a close game then Ratings will be great . It may not be a blow out .

October 2nd, 1982 CBS televised UGA - State from Starkvegas. I was there. Great game
UGA 29-State 22

So that is the one and only time that CBS televised UGA-State nationally.

In a way I am glad that ESPN has this game and that it is at night since summer time is still here (Hot).

Further, Alabama is only allowed, what, 5 showings a year on CBS, right?

And this game takes away one.

You know, I really don't remember how I found TD.

I came here in 2007 after our "Bluegrass Miracle" revenge game with LSU. I came to compliment their fans for their impressive presence in Commonwealth Stadium but they fell upon me like Antifa on a confederate-flag-carrying bystander.

Agree, MSU/UGA is a much bigger/better game.

Guess its kind of like The Harlem Globetrotters vs The Washington Generals. Nobody watching it for the Generals.

Vandy deserves a CBS game every now and then and let them get destroyed on national tv to Bama like everyone else.....except Clemson

I look for Vanderbilt to keep this game close. Hard to pick against Bama, but Vandy ain't to be trifled with this year. That defense is tough.
