Can we just talk about how Florida State was completely out of place?

The other three teams were light years ahead of them. TCU would have competed magnificently.

Really makes you think of how disappointed TCU players were to realize that a team that EVERYONE knew didnt belong there was getting the nod over them.

Pretty positive that even my team could defeat Florida State.

It is sad, really.

I agree. That was my biggest problem this year with the playoff.

FSU was maybe a fringe top 10 team.

Seeing what TCU did to Ole Miss proved to the nation where they should have been.

Arkansas beat Ole Miss 30-0. Im just saying. Ole Miss was highly overrated all year.

They'll be a force to be reckoned with next year assuming Boykin doesnt drop a bomb and declare for the draft at the last minute.

Arkansas was also very underrated.

My point is that TCU did way more than Florida State did. Florida State struggled with mediocre at best teams. TCU blew out most of their small fries.

That Baylor game was going to whoever had the ball last.

Im not arguing that but I also think FSU would have done nasty things to Ole Miss as well at the end of the year.

I agree that TCU should have been in over FSU. Just dont think using Ole Miss as the barometer is accurate.

Honestly I think TCU would've given Ohio State a better game than Oregon did.

I dont know. I dont think either of them had an answer to the OSU OL to be completely honest.

Didn't say TCU would win. I just don't think Oregon is physical enough to compete with the real marquee teams.

I agree with this.

I know one thing, Mizzou changed its philosophy in the trenches since joining the SEC.

I think it sets a bad precedent if you don't allow the undefeated defending national champion into the playoff. Tough situation, but Florida State being undefeated was huge.

I can't imagine how pissed I would be if I was a Florida State fan who could hardly remember my team's last loss, and they didn't have a chance to repeat after going undefeated.

I think this proved, power football can beat the spread to pieces. OSU looked like Bama before they give the reins to Kiffin.

Great defense, power offense controlling the clock still wins. OSU has good players both sides of the ball, not just loaded up on offense to sling it.

I like this style of fooseball, old style, roll'em up.

Being undefeated is highly overrated. FSU would have been 7-5 with Arkansas's schedule this year.

TCU should have scheduled a SEC team in the regular season like FSU did, win out, and then would have been in.

Can't rule out the defending NC with an unbeaten record guys....

The TCU/Ole Miss game is irrelevant to this discussion. The committee could only look at results prior to the selection and they got it right on the most controversial issue: whether OSU should be in. TCU played a weak schedule and did not win it's conference. Those are two very large factors the committee was required to consider.

FSU did everything the committee could ever ask them to do: win all your games, win your conference, schedule tough OOC competition (OkSt, ND, UF). They just lost.

It's inevitable for 3 of the 4 teams to end up losing. What's the point in retrospectively questioning if they deserved it after each one loses?

As long as FSU (or any Power 5 team) has a '0' on the right side of their W-L record, they'll be in the playoffs. I'm pretty sure the committee wanted to exclude them from the playoffs but they kept on winning.
