permanently retire the phrase "chip on his shoulder" from sports. Commentators and players use it constantly, sometimes when it is not even appropriate. Where it was once used only occasionally, it is now part of every discussion. Let it go, please, just let it go.

"Overcame adversity" is definitely worse. Every championship team in the last ten years has made this claim, even when they were injury free the whole way with few tests.

Indisputable video evidence

I'm so God damned tired of hearing that and the fricking video replay rules every time there's a replay.

I said that phrase a few months ago. I didn't know it would upset you this much.

While we are at, come up with another word for resiliency. Sportscasters love this word and misuse it constantly.

We would stop hearing a lot of them if ESPN would cut out the Tom Rinaldi segments.

I'd rather retire the "pump the brakes" saying. Since most frickers on this board never had a car without anti-lock brakes any damn way.

OP seems like he has a chip on his shoulder...

Dammit, late to the party. Sorry.

resiliency

Is this even a real word? I always assumed they meant to say resilient.
