Outside of A&M-AZ state, this is the noncon game I'm most curious about this year. Would Beating the Sooners mean the Vols are the real deal?

Personally, I like Tennessee and I'd like to see the vols win this one(especially against a big 12 team), but I guess I just don't see what all the UT fans are raving on about.

Probably, but for the sake of the melt, I certainly hope not.

Tennessee may be dangerous by the end of the year, but I don't think they'll be ready then

Yeah, dude is for real. I don't know that the UT's line/linebackers are capable of stopping that man.

Oklahoma has one of the least experienced Offensive Lines in FBS starting the season, and a new offensive coordinator that was known for his pass offenses at Eastern Carolina.

VOLS absolutely can win, but I certainly don't have it marked as a "W". UT has been awful against OOS lately along with being terrible overall. I would say this game is a tossup with the advantage being slightly to OU.

As has been mentioned, the run defense will be key. I think the frosh DTs will make an immediate impact and help free up the LBs, who I also think are very capable. I think UT will be able to move the ball effectively enough.

I've said it before...this team has the talent to win and should be a 8 to maybe 9 win team. Hopefully they can play to their potential and the coaches don't get in the way too much.

UT's front 7 will eat OU's OL alive. Funny how things could be reversed in just 1 year. OU became mediocre towards the end last year. They'll be even worse.

OU will live and die by their QB play this year. Right now they have 3 QBs battling it out. They have Trevor Knight who started most of last year and made Saban cry in the Sugar Bowl a couple years ago. Baker Mayfield transferred from Texas Tech and can sling it but has had a bit of an INT problem. Cody Thomas started 3 games last year when TK went down but didnt look at that good.

I don't know, maybe. I didn't mean to imply that is definitely the case. I think we should see this year and next. I am not one who thinks that UT's coaches are the greatest in the world and it's well known that Butch had a few blunders last year at critical times.

I know they recruit lights out, I just hope the talent is coached well.

If Knight is healthy OU is top 5 team. They are going to beat UT easily I think as Stoops usually does not lose early games, his teams fold in the stretch.

I understand. What were your biggest complaints? When turning around programs that have struggled, a lot of coaches focus on recruiting assistants at first and then transition to more development/football iq minded coaches. Is that something you see butch doing?

While I am picking TN to win the SEC East, I don't have them winning this game. They could win. They play the games for obvious reasons..lol.

When Tennessee beats Bama this year, the melt in T-town will be amazing. Couches will be burning and butt chuggin all over Knoxville as well.
