Can he carry it 25+ times a game all year? Where is the rest of the A&M backfield?

I would be saving his arse for conference competition the next 2 games. His style of play would surely get him injured if they continue at this pace.

James White bruised his lower back early in the game. I expect he'll be back. If we lost one of those two guys for extended time, it would get very dicey. We'd have to spread it out and fling it around more.

Kendall Bussey is also hurt, but is expected back. I have no idea whether he can be counted on to contribute this year or not. We're expecting Ford to contribute next year, but he has to sit this year.

Dammit, you're not suppose to talk actual football, didn't you get the memo?

If we do have to run the gauntlet with only one back then I would have it be Carson, but having Carson and White is almost necessary.

Speedy can't play QB and RB.

Kyler Murray is the backup RB.

We will run plays where he lines up in the backfield behind Kyle Allen as a hybrid QB/RB.

Also, Myles Garrett will play some fullback.

Daylon Mack will be inserted at the goal line and go full Refrigerator

Since NCAA rules do allow us to have 12 players this is actually not a bad idea.

No, White will have to spell him so that they both hopefully stay healthy. Although if he had to I think he could but I don't want to find out.

What about Etwi? Just from watching clips, he seemed serviceable.

Etwi and Dolezal, while walk-ons, are better than people think. Neither of them have the talent Bussey has, but both of them might be better options at this point. Bussey just hasn't been able to get the work in yet to know the offense. His injury really set him back.

No one ever said that. I wouldn't want an LSU back to carry it that many times, and I think you'd be hard pressed to find many games where in fact that did happen over the last 10 years. LSU prides itself on having 3 capable backs that all get carries during the games. Fournette should receive 15-20 carries IMO, and in some cases a little more than 20, but no way it would be great for his body long term to receive over 20 carries every game, and I dont expect any RB that comes into college or pros for that matter to bode well with that work load.

Ah, I see. i didn't catch that. I was wondering why Carson was the only back in there for so long. He had a great game, and even though he didn't break 100, he worked for every yard hard with lots of contact, which is fun to watch, but it simply can't be sustained over a full season.

We're going to be counting on James White this season for sure. Hopefully he can get back into action this week
