Can Texas A&M make the NCAA tournament without a Top 50 win?

Right now they're 0-5 against the Top 50. Their only chance to get a Top 50 victory is at Arkansas which seems like a longshot. If they go 4-1 the rest of the way with that one loss being at Arkansas, their RPI projects to be around 33, but their resume will still be dangerously light on quality wins.

For reference, only two at-large teams have made the NCAA tournament with no Top 50 wins.

Finish 4-1 with a loss to arkansas, win 1+ games in the SEC tourney and they're in

Nope.... Their chances ended last week, when they lost to Georgia.

I think there's still a pretty good chance, but this team is more of an NIT team imo.

No, they will need to win the SEC tournament to get in.

No top 50 wins right now - we'll see at the end of the season if any of them (like LSU) end up in the top 50.

We're 2-3 vs. RPI top 50 (LSU #48)

If we get to 22 wins we will be a lock with an RPI in the 30s. Let's not kid ourselves here.

1) LSU is at like 52 and might well finish in the top 50. We beat them twice.

2) Suppose LSU does not finish in the top 50. Suppose we finish 4-1, losing only to Arkansas. We'd have 13 conference wins, 20+ wins, and an rpi in the 30s. In the history of college basketball, no team from a major conference has had an rpi in the 30s, 20+ wins, and been left out.

I mean it's a fun fantasy to dream about but aggy isn't going 4-1 to finish the season.

Eh. They have SC, @Ark, Auburn, @UF and Bama. They could go 4-1 in that stretch. Need a tough (but doable) win at UF.

They could go 4-1, they could go 5-0. They could go 0-5.

I guess we'll find out

Tourney would be gravy. Just been very pleasantly surprised by this season so far.
