Can anybody let me know some good bars to go to in Knoxville?

I've tried searching, but no luck....
Can anybody let me know some good bars to go to in Knoxville? Our softball team qualified for the Super World Series October 5th -7th and we're late thirties early forties - not really looking for jam packed hip hop clubs.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Downtown Grill and Brewery in downtown. After that the bars are a little douchey.
Also, hit up Calhoun's on the river.
Guess it also depends on your age. I'm 34 and lived there from 1999-2003 and 2008-2011. I just came back from visiting last week

everyone said they didn't like calhouns but the old man, his buddy and i got hammered there and it was a pretty awesome environment
we also tried to go to this shackish looking steak house but the wait was unreal and my wearing georgia gear didn't help us get a table so we gave up

Their players seem to hang around the jail a lot. Guess the bars in there are pretty good

You're going to want to go to the Carousel, it's as close to campus as you can get, and I can tell bythe OP you'd love it.

Calhouns was incredible. Scenic as hell & a great bar atmosphere. However, they ran out of kegs by 7:00 pm the Friday nite before the game. LSU literally took it over both then & pregame the next am.

Calhouns is always taken over by other fans, that's not really an accomplishment.

Knoxville is the only place i have been that serves pitchers of red bull and vodka at the bars, dangerous combo

Definitely head to the Carousel. A great place to head after a hard fought softball game.
