Can Alabama figure out spread offenses or is this the end of Saban

Saban has been a demigod to the Alabama faithful. Unfortunately he has one flaw: His defenses can't stop spread offenses. Will Gus continue his dominance over Saban or will Saban finally figure things out? If LSU can fix their offense, is this the year they go back to the SECCG (the real championship) ? This should be quite an interesting year.

Bama fans will bring up Ole Miss, but they kind of suck.

We stopped it well enough. If we had a kicker who was worth a damn, we wouldn't be having this discussion. The problem is the special teams, not the defense.

This. Saban has been needing to fix the kicking dept. for some time now.

Kicking department or coaching decisions? You realize no kicker made a field goal from that far out all season. Or at least that's what some one told me.

Really? Just because he has occasionally lost to a few spread teams does not mean he "can't" stop them. It wasn't as if Auburn's O completely destroyed the Bama D. Sure we lost the game, but not entirely because of our defense. Bama shutout OM's spread offense. Bama manhandled Urban Meyer's spread offenses at UF. The only thing that has consistently truly been a problem for Saban's D has been Johnny Football.

LOL!! Foster missed an easy 33 yarder. Not to mention 2 other ones that were in reach. He sucked and cost Bama the game.

If yeldon didn't suck so bad they would have gotten the first down and we'd be talking threepeat. Saban made the better call going for it on 4th instead of kicking an easy field goal. Players have trouble executing his play calls in clutch situations.

There is more to it than that

Auburn had a easy TD where the defense was burned but our QB just plain ole missed a guy 10 yards wide open.

You cant have one without the other

So you're telling me no kicker has made a field goal from the TEN-FRICKING-YARD LINE all season?

296 yards rushing is not stopping an offense. Imagine if AU had a QB that could throw the ball, Bama's D would have really been on their heels.
