"... And is fine." He's day to day and may be able to do stuff today - according to Saban.

Don't know where the broken foot rumor came from but so glad it wasn't true
ETA: my faith in the people of the rant was restored by the amount of auburn and lsu fans who genuinely hoped it wasn't true

That does seem a bit random. Anyone who would have seen him go down and carted off would have surely seen a knee brace or at least trainers working with his knee. Broken foot would have been a pretty odd conclusion.

Good news for the young man.
I hate preseason injuries or any injuries to players for that matter. No matter who you cheer for these are still young people -- college kids who just happen to play ball.

Good, glad he's going to be alright. Now we all can get back to making fun of bammer and counting down to the running of the gumps.

How can these guys even sprain a knee with those huge knee braces they wear?

I'm surprised more guys his size don't have serious knee problems. I don't think the knee was designed to carry that much weight.
Hopefully he will take the time he needs to fully recover.

Good news. How long is a sprained knee? Couple of weeks?
Just another example of why social media and the instant information age sucks. The instant "news" is almost always fricking wrong.

Just look at what happened to LT Tiny Richardson. He should've been a 1st rounder alongside Ja'Wuan James but the cartilage in his knees was totally shredded by the weight and physical grind of playing tackle. Although Tiny was probably more susceptible because of the way he was built/genetics, it's amazing that doesn't happen to big guys more often.

Glad he's ok. I don't want Alabama having any excuse as to why they lost to Wisconsin week 1.
Just giving you a hard time, gumps.

It was just a scare then. I have seen people throbbing in pain and back in the game in a few snaps or a later quarter. Sometimes you can have a season ending injury and not even realize it until later.
He might not have much more pain threshold.

If some surgeon could come up with a Tommy John surgery for the knee, he would make a fortune.
It is probably the weakest link of the body when it comes to sports.
BTW, Glad to hear he is OK

Mine took about a month to be completely pain free - it hurt like hell when it happened, thought I had done more serious damage, although the pain substantially subsided after about 3 days.

Yeah quite a relief.
Usually it seems like these days the rumors are always true. Or maybe that's just for my teams.

So is a sprained knee = to a sprained ACL or MCL or can you sprain your knee? I sprained my MCL a grade 1 and it took about 2 months to start to feel better. Granted football players get unbelievable treatment compared to me doing nothing other than taking it easy.
Good to hear hate to see any player suffer a serious injury.

The spains of today would be career ending injuries before the braces. I played OL and the biggest fear was the side impact or the dreaded impact from behind. Especially if you were fully engaged with your assignment. I hate seeing bad leg injuries regardless of the player.
