That list appears to have zero correlation to on-field production.

If you have a lower score, you have a greater probability to be one of the greater NFL QB's of all time???

I wouldn't say zero correlation.

that loose ball was EVERYTHING...he HAD to jump on it. that's what cam newton is made of deep down.

Haha, dude has become elite at every level in record-setting time, but the fumble thing is what he's made of.

Can't make stuff up with these idiots.

Oh, but wait, he played for Bama.

Autism != stupid. I'm on the spectrum and my IQ is upper 130s/lower 140s.

Don't lump us in with that tard

There has never been any correlation between Wonderlic score and on the field performance.

Just saying.

Surprised you're on the spectrum but yes I thought that was a silly addition to the op. Autistic folks are by no means dumb- in fact they normally have higher iq's.

The minimum score determined by NFL Draft experts for a QB to be intelligent enough to play the position is 20.

You can say a lot about Cam Newton, but to suggest he's not "intelligent enough to play the position" of QB is ridiculous. The man can play QB, that is not debatable.

It's time to give it up. Your misguided hatred is showing your true character more so than Cam's press conference.

Yeah, Cam's Wonderlic score is real indicative of his ability to play quarterback.

Behind such NFL greats as

Blaine Gabbert
Matt Flynn
Christian Ponder
Matt Schaub
Ryan Tannehill
Mark Sanchez
EJ Manuel

Based on info provided the yet seems to have an obvious cultural and racial bias. Can can't help being from Atlanta and not being white.

At the end of the day, Cam does a lot for children and families. He is very involved in giving back to others and doing something good with what he has. You don't see him acting like Johnny Football or PacMan Jones, or any of those guys.

This is 100% true and probably the most maddening flaw he has. If someone sat him down 15 years ago and yanked a knot in his arse he'd have the world by the tail. I honestly think he's a good person who simply doesn't know how to act. Obviously he thinks his behavior is acceptable, and in fact seems to have folks close to him encouraging this nonsense...you know, keeping it real and all.

I work in the media in Charlotte and we have covered events from his 7 v 7 tournament for high school football, to him doing charity work with children and visiting Levine Children's Hospital. He has personally requested that a lot of his acts not be mentioned/covered/filmed because he's not doing it for the press. I think he's genuine and has a tough time controlling his emotions, which is something most of us could probably use some work on, as well, if we're being honest.

Cam is a good, young man who is still finding his way in the world. I can't imagine the pressure that's put on him from every direction to not let people down, and he's trying to do so while being true to himself. He plays the game with a child-like enthusiasm we don't see very often. Yeah, he's a poor loser, but he hasn't lost very much in his career, and even when the team has played poorly, he's normally been pretty solid.

Sunday night was the first time I can ever remember in his college/pro career where he was out of his element in a big game. He's always had the ability to flip the switch, but for the first time I can recall, it just didn't happen for him.

I have no doubt that he'll continue to grow and learn from this experience. I'd guess he saw the tape yesterday and realized that yeah, he looked like a jackass. But you can't go back, all you can do is go forward and that's when we'll see if he's changed.
