Frank Thomas, Josh Donaldson, Rowdy Gaines, Kevin Greene. Auburn produces greatness. I can't think of another SEC school that can match the all time greatness that Auburn has produced

How impressive is Auburn

The Round Mound of Rebound was a GOAT athlete?

He was a great basketball player and lots of fun to listen to, but nobody would put him in the same building as truly great athletes.

That's pretty good

LSU's basketball is pretty sick with Shaq and Pistol. Ben McDonald and Aaron Nola are filthy for baseball. Odell is off to a fast start in football and LF has a ton of potential.

I would say Barkley is arguably top 25 all time. Had he won a championship I don't think you make that statement

The battlecry of each of these great Auburn men other than #GOAT Cam Newton.

I'm not questioning his ability, just his overall athleticism. I would never call Shaq a GOAT athlete either. One of the GOAT basketball players, yes. Just not GOAT athlete.

What other 6'4 1/2 275lb Power Forward dominated the NBA without being a great athlete?

He was always looked at as the 2nd best player in the NBA during his time...we all know who was #1

Ok you clearly don't know a great athlete when you see one

Gotcha. My OP refers to those individuals being the best in their respective sport not based upon their level of athleticism

Lotta bridesmaids up in here. Even Big Hurt was injured when Chicago won that World Series in the mid-2000's.

#GOAT Cam even has to carry the Auburn legends on his back.

There would be a logjam at 2nd, and, yes, Barkley would deserve serious consideration. But that was the era of Malone, Hakeem the Dream, Clyde the Glide, The Admiral, etc, so it's a genuine debate. What Barkley did was make sure someone needled Jordan and gave him a much-needed ego prick from time to time.

Also, I'm trying to remember Malone's nickname. The Mailman?
