Well was'nt he still on the field when the game was over? Carolina had the ball.
Every Super Bowl I've seen, the losing qb usually has helmet on when leaving the field.
I mean the emotions have to be hard to hold back.

Unfortunately for Carolina, he probably was...

Also, the biggest thing is Cam had a chance to disprove all of his critics. The ones , me included, who thinks it's all about him and his ego is too big.
He could have sat at that press conference, been gracious, taken the questions, and put out the effort. He is the league MVP! They weren't asking him to smile and act like it was no big deal. But he should have been more mature in the press conference. It would have gone a long way to improve his image.

Thanks. Proved my point.
No, you just proved why you never excelled at sports. That was not giving it your all to win.

I don't know why people are surprised this jackass acts this way. He's ALWAYS acted this way. Just because he wins games doesn't mean he's not a punk.

He could have made a lot of fans during that press conference. I have been on the fence about him professionally. Then he had to act like a whiney dick bag.
FWIW, I can't stand Saban for the exact same reason.

quote:No. It was the 4th quarter of the super bowl, and his team was down 6 points. That ball was worth most NFL players' careers, and it was certainly worth trying to recover. He's a running QB who took 15 hits last night, but he avoided the one that counted the most.
The non fumble recovery, if he dives immeadialty he might get his knee taken out, imo ; then he would be crucified for taking that risk.
He certainly would not have been crucified for getting injured on that play, and the backlash definitely would not have been worse than it was for backing off the ball.

The cam hate from the limp dicks makes me happy. Just like in 2010!

The dislike for him has been continuous SINCE 2010. He is amazingly immature and hard to stomach.

Which beats the alternative:
great quote in that article
quote:
"It's just a job for these guys," is a familiar refrain. The natural response to that is the great ones make their job their passion. Hall of Fames don't tend to include guys who can't care. The desire to win is what sustains greatness. You think Michael Jordan was hugging Isiah Thomas after losses in the 1980s? Or that Larry Bird stayed on the court to congratulate Kareem? Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio weren't going out for drinks after the Yankees beat the Red Sox. The great ones are competitors and competitors can't flip a switch immediately after a devastating loss and act like it didn't matter

It shouldn't surprise anyone that the media tried to white-wash Peyton's actions, though. As you note, it is an interesting thought.
It should be noted that Peyton himself characterized the incident as a "mistake."

Why did he put his helmet back on to talk to Manning?
Every other time he had been that close to Denver players, they drilled him into the ground. Force of habit, I suppose.
