Can someone clarify if he is draft eligible? I had thought the NFL was all about age and since hes a 21 year old freshmen is he eligible to declare even if he probably wont?

Isn't it 2 years removed from high school?

Think it is 3 years removed from High School, not age. Could be wrong but I think that is it.

That is a great question. I guess he would be. I don't think it requires 3 years of actually playing to enter the draft.

When did he graduate from High School?

I think it is the 3rd year out of high school that he is eligible.

As already stated it's 3 years removed from HS. A Junior or RS Sophmore can declare for the draft.

wonder if challenged could that legally stand up.

You could kind of make an argument 18y body isn't ready.

What do you say about a 21y old freshmen though?

I do not believe he is eligible. The "3 year" rule applies to the number of year since high school graduation.

Him being 21 has no bearing on that rule.

It can legally stand up because it isn't some arbitrary rule. It is part of the NFL collective bargaining agreement.

Yeah. It's 3 years after high school. I remember Louisville having a 19 year old drafted. But he graduated very early, so it was allowed.

In all reality, it should be an either or thing. As is, it's bullshite, even though it works on Bama's favor this time.

Wasn't Leonard founette almost 21 when he finished High school also? How do these guys have the grades to even play in high school if they have been held back that many times. At some point it seems like it would be a safety issue for the high school kids they played.

I believe in baseball it is age based. Gausman for LSU comes to mind because he was able to leave after only 2 years because he was already 21, I believe.

CBB you have to enroll for 1 year. CFB you have to enroll for 3.

wtf, bro. Dude was 19. Stop making yourself look like a dumbass.

Michael Dyer was like 20 when he was a freshman at Auburn.

Regardless of age, Ridley needs another 2 years in a weight room before he is ready to step on an NFL field.
