QBs are held to higher standards and are often rated by their accomplishments (i.e. championships). Manziel doesn't have shite. There is no chance he is the GOAT. Probably not even top 20.
They're held to a higher standard, but it's not one that requires them to transform the 96th ranked defense into something serviceable. This is self-evident and cannot be disputed, and neither can the OP.
Feldman has spoken. Any contrary opinion from this board means nothing.

Mike Vick in his prime or Manziel on LSU's team. I take Vick. Then Cam Newton. Manziel is fun to watch, but not the GOAT.

I have to agree about Cam. I don't like him or Manziel, but Newton was unstoppable. Auburn's defense was shitty that year, too.
Manziel is stoppable.

"Best ever" is impossible to say and used too much. We've seen 3 "best ever" in the SEC alone since 2007. That's not even including Vince Young who was a beast in his own right. Maizel was amazing against Duke, VY did it against the "best ever" team in the biggest game.
Having said that JFF has been great CF player. Just amazing. Just not better than Tebow, Cam or Young, but is of that caliber.

I saw both in person, and Cam was the best IMHO. As an LSU fan , I am probably a little biased since we shut down JFF twice and got torched by Cam. He was unstoppable that game.

No. In the BCS era, it's either Reggie Bush or Cam Newton.

I have nothing against him. He's incredible and fun to watch. I actually hope he tears it up in the NFL.

First it's Tebow, then it's Cam and now it's Manziel. Who will be his GOAT next year?

Vince Young
Cam Newton
Tebow
JFF
As unbiased as I can get. Call me 2% but the 2 yr run Vince Young had, and the performances in back to back Rose Bowls? Incredible.
Cam is similar to Vince, but Oregon and Clemson slowed him down a bit that year. Vince Young was pretty much dominant in the 05 season. Lol at the B12 championship score that year. But its a close second.
Tebow? Two NC's, Heisman enough said. But he also had solid defenses..... and one Percy Harvin. Harvin was the difference in that game against OU.
JFF. He has the individual stats and hardware. But unfortunately he was unable to carry the team to any sort of championship. But the guy is young, and had to deal with a very shitty defense this year. But in terms of individual talent and skill he belongs in this group. His improvisation, pocket presence, and scrambling was amazing.

I say Cam but clearly I'm biased.

Gotta admit though..
JFF had two Olineman who very well could be top 5 picks. A WR that could be top 15.
And lets not forget how great Swope was as a WR last year (in his college career in general)
This isnt too take away from Johnny. He's all time great.
With that said...Imagine if Cam had that talent around him? Or was in Sumlin's more vertical offense?

You could make the case you guys (A&M) slowed VY down that year as well.
The thing is we tend to remember the last time we saw the player. Which I put a lot of weight in as well...
If Cam dominated Oregon like we all thought he was going to do....Then in my mind there would be no question he's the GOAT.
But he didnt...so that kind of knocks his legacy down a tad....especially since Vince was SO DOMINANT in his bowl games. Now If Cam had another year of dominance...then no one would have question whether he's best either imo.
JFF is the most exciting of the bunch. He's in that class.
Tebow is probably the most accomplished.
I'll add this guy...if he dominants tomorrow and next year...
Jameis Winston as the best "Pocket Passer".
Now he has an abundance of talent around him. But he's helped make those guys into stars as well...no one was talking about FSU's playmakers last year.
I cant put him in with the other guys....because they were so much better runners. But if he dominates Auburn....and has a Heisman worthy year next year...
Gotta say he's in the discussion for best pocket passer's of all time. With guys like Peyton, Luck, Danny Wuerful, etc.

I'm not saying he's the GOAT but he's in the conversation. He did more with less overall help on the field. I know he had some guys to throw to and dome beef up front but he had to be our best defensive player too. I know there are guys who put up as many points as he did but how many HAD to. It sucks for a qb to put up 40+ almost every game and still have a chance to lose. Again not saying he's the GOAT but he deserves to be in the conversation.

in the vy/cam/jff debate ill take vy by a close margin. had cam played for at least another year he could have possibly passed vy.
