Breaking down the first 3 SEC vs. SEC games of the season

Week 1 is all non-conference matchups, and there are some good ones, but I want to look at the 3 SEC vs. SEC games in week 2.
Georgia @ Vanderbilt (CBS, 2:30 CT)
Vandy is tied for the most returning starters in the SEC, but went 0-8 in conference play last season. Mason knows his job is on the line, and if they can get by Western Kentucky in week 1 they should have a good crowd & some energy for this game. Georgia won 44-17 last year in Athens, and ran for 243. Vandy will be a year older & improved on defense, but I say that a Chubb-led UGA will run for 200 as a team and dominate the 2nd half. Bulldogs win 31-14.
Kentucky @ S.Carolina (SECN, 6:30 CT)
We'll learn a lot in week 1 - Kentucky hosts a decent ULL team and SC plays UNC. If UK wins impressively and SC wins at all, this game will get some extra attention, with SC possibly coming in ranked. UK won last year's shootout (947 total yards) 45-38 with a 21-point 4th qtr comeback in Lexington. That 2014 game is the high-water mark of the Stoops era so far, as it lost its next 5 SEC games. UK has not won a road SEC game under Stoops, but they have been close. They will be close again: SC 34, Cats 31.
LSU @ Mississippi St. (ESPN, 8:15 CT)
Both teams have cupcakes in week 1 setting up a showdown in Starkville. MSU handled the Tigers in Baton Rouge last year 34-29, establishing the Bulldogs' legitimacy and exposing LSU as a young team with problems in the middle of the defense. MSU brings back the fewest starters in the SEC, but many new starters played a lot of downs as backups last year. LSU has QB questions while MSU's best player is the QB - big advantage to MSU, along with playing at home. LSU's biggest advantage will be its running game against MSU's defensive front. It will be just enough in a wild Les Miles classic of a finish: Tigers 27, Dogs 24.
Georgia @ Vanderbilt (CBS, 2:30 CT)

the only reason I'll say we don't blow vandy the frick out is because it'll be our QBs first road start and it's against an SEC team. Granted it's not gonna be a ton of pressure, but still more so than playing ULM at home.
Our defense won't let vandy win so I'm not worried about an upset, but I think we'll look pretty sloppy on offense, besides Chubb. I really want to see what Terry Godwin can do at WR.

Georgia @ Vandy - My, wouldn't this be a hilarious letdown for the Dawgs early in the season. Don't expect it to happen, but Vandy has a good chunk of returners while Georgia will be breaking in a new QB.
Kentucky @ South Carolina - I like Kentucky in this one. Beat them last year, giving the players confidence. QB conundrum at SC. I like kentucky in this early season affair.
LSU @ Miss State - As with others, one team with an experienced QB, the other with QB questions. Dak is the best QB in the SEC. Question is, can he carry the load an entire season. I think he can early, but struggles later. Taking Miss St at home during this night game.

LSU @ MSU may end up being the best game of the entire year save for Auburn @ LSU. It's going to be exciting seeing the new teams show their true colors and I think it'll set the pace for the rest of the year in the West. Mississippi State has to be ready in the trenches because our offensive line is looking incredible. Our backs are going to be relentless with them going 5 deep (4-5 stars). With improved QB and WR play, it'll be one hell of a show.

State is absolutely capable of winning this game. I just think LSU's defense is that much better this year and will do a much better job of containing Dak and Bear Wilson. Plus Coach O will get to play the team that got him fired from Ole Miss for the first time since the 2007 Egg Bowl. He will have that defensive line motivated.

You would need to run it almost 80 times to get 250 yards. Doubt you run that many plays.

I'm really excited to see what South Carolina will be like this year. Kentucky had some bright moments last year and I think they will run all over USCe and take the W.

Prescott put up 26 points as a Soph and 34 as a Jr. This year he has the best WR group State has ever had. No chance State scores less than 30

About as dumb as the 2.5 yards per carry you averaged last year in Tiger Stadium?
That 89 yards on 35 carries was fire.
