If an SEC team plays for the MNC, how much money does the SEC get? Is it possible the SEC is stalling the investigation to make sure of the big payday.

I think Bama/SEC got 24 million for our appearance last year.

SEC? No, it's in the NCAA and FBI's hands now.
ETA:
The NCAA has to get this right because if they screw up anywhere along the way Cecil "the pimp" Newton will try to sue the NCAA for damages. The pimps always get their money.

I believe that the SEC gets 1/13th of all the bowl money earned by SEC teams, which means they would obviously get more money if the SEC has two BCS teams, and would max that amount out if an SEC team plays in the MNC game.

And the SEC can't/won't stall an NCAA investigation. They won't find out the results until the investigation is complete.
