Obviously it is sad kid got hurt. I wish a speedy and full recovery.

I was watching coach film room version of game. They made it seem like a big deal. Is there really that big of a drop off for second team or more a talking point?

I think Bo brings an added dimension when we are in a situation like we were against Clemson in which they are crowding things and have a bunch of guys racing to the run.

Bo has the skills to break a tackle and then explode into the secondary, even against a mass of tacklers (see Washington and twice against Clemson). Harris and Jacobs are solid players, but that isn't really their game. Harris and Jacobs do a really good job of shifting and attacking holes, but Bo is by far the best tackle breaking, 0-100 back we have.

However, it's not the reason we lost the game. It didn't help, but Clemson had figured some things out it seemed and were tackling better.

Bo was gashing Clemson, don't know if the score changes but they sure would have had the ball longer in the 2nd half. Could've kept the defense fresher, defense could've then stopped Clemson, etc.

Yea, I'm guessing we could have ground out a few more first downs and perhaps busted another big run or two.

But hey, it is what it is. Stuff like that happens. And, Harris and Jacobs aren't slouches.

Greg McElroy said it best, Alabama fans need not say "if Bo plays we win"...

Same could be said for Texas with Colt McCoy.

Alabama claims they still would have beat Texas if McCoy wouldn't have gotten hurt so Clemson would have still beat them last night

Big deal. The way Bo was running late in the year, and in the MNC game, his loss was a big blow. Remember, 1 more 1st down and Clemson wouldn't have had a final drive.

Look Clemson outplayed us after 14-0 before Bo went out, but your comment is a false equivalence.

Clemson won on the last second. We beat Texas by 16.

Clemson was stopping Bo after his second touchdown, so I don't think it would've made a difference. Jacobs and Harris are more than capable backs, but we didn't give them the ball much.

Maybe I missed the flood of "if Bo hadn't gotten hurt" excuses, but I haven't seen any.

Having a good player getting hurt sucks, but everybody has it happen. It's football.

yeah it was a big deal and it demoralized the offense.

Texas may have won if McCoy didn't get hurt so that's exactly the reason you could say Alabama could've won if Bo didn't hurt but I don't hear any Bama fans using that excuse. Please continue to push a narrative that isn't there.

Anyone trying to undersell his injury is a moron. We lost our most effective offensive weapon in a game in which our offense was struggling, and not running enough clock. Clemson NEVER stopped him. A 3 yard carry is not shutting down the run when he's averaging over 5.
Part of the problem was our refusal to grind it out with Bo before the injury. We should've been running him every play. The pass/run mix was awful. Remember that our only two sustained drives for TDs came on the back of Bo.
Are injuries a part of the game? Obv
But don't tell me it didn't impact the game

Its not Bama winning the 2009 title almost solely because McCoy went down, I'd say its a little less impactful than Miami losing McGahee in 2002, hell Bo was a backup for large portion of the year anyway.

Losing Eddie Jackson and Hamilton were bigger losses than Bo.

The Scarborough injury was the exact turning point where you felt like Clemson might take over the game, so in fact it was a pretty big deal in the flow of the game.

However, Bama fans talk constant shite about their consecutive #1 recruiting classes and how they had 5-stars everywhere and how loaded and talented their depth chart was, so it's ironic that the lack of d-line and running back depth and production is what ultimately cost them the game.

Colt McCoy was knocked out on his 5th play. Scarborough played three quarters.

Look at what he was doing in terms of yards after contact. Yes, it was a real big deal. Especially when you need a back to help grind out 3rd and short etc to maintain possession. Harris was unable to do that.

This kid has to go pro now

One more lower leg injury, and he might be done for.

Two ACL's and now a broken leg? Is that correct?

This is correct. If you know Alabama's MO, you know that Clemson was getting ready to get a heavy dose of power running in the 4th quarter and you could see the gains per carry were increasing..taking their toll. We'll never know how things would have turned out, but I'm pretty sure we'd have seen a different type on ending...but that's life and I'm confident that Alabama and Bo will get to try it again next year.
