To the distinguished and discerning college football aficionados, I would like to draw your attention to an interesting thought experiment.
Below is a blind résumé comparison between two similar teams in similar situations. Since, according to many on this board, football started very very recently, so we shall confine this case study to the 2014 season. Please evaluate the teams' 2014 season, and provide projections or insights into the 2015 season, if possible. They are in the same region of the country, to factor in recruiting.
Please note, this thread is entirely voluntary. No one is being coerced into participating in this purely academic debate among scholars.
Résumé 1
Overall Record: 9-4
Coach: 7th year
OC: 3rd year
DC: 3rd year
Regular season record vs top 10 teams: 0-1
Regular season record vs top 25 teams: 0-2
Final standing in conference: 5th
Gave vs. conference champ: DNP
Game vs. runner up: L
Game vs. 3rd place: L
Game vs. 4th place: L
Lost bowl game
Résumé 2
Overall Record: 11-3
Coach: 14th year
OC: 2nd year
DC: 6th year
Regular season record vs top 10 teams: 0-1
Regular season record vs top 25 teams: 1-2
Final standing in conference: 4th
Gave vs. conference champ: L
Game vs. runner up: L
Game vs. 3rd place: L
Game vs. 4th place: DNP
Won bowl game
Feel free to comment on any similarities or differences between the resumes. I think they are fairly comparable TBH. Not much was accomplished by either team, and the future looks about the same for both programs.

Team with 10 regular season wins, conference championship appearance, and bowl win > team with 9 regular season wins and bowl loss.

I have no idea why people are adding things to my hypothetical situation

It only stands to reason that if team #2 played 14 games they played in CCG.

I dunno. I like Porker's unhealthy obsession with Missouri.
Maybe he saw me on TV. I was doing some late game field maintenance dressed in black.

What is the point of this thread?

Had to have a hog fan start a thread so you would have somewhere to post
Posted on 7/19/15 at 5:31 pm to GeauxToBed
Just to discuss these teams and what they accomplished, if anything

Damn Mizzou control yourself when you win the Super Bowl.

Bert's resume means nothing. The Big 10 sucked through most of his successful years.

Pretty sad no one could even take a stab at the real life basis of the teams
Maybe the intellectuals aren't as bright as I thought
