This is probably not the first and it won't be the last time this type of thread appears this offseason.

What was your team's biggest weakness this past season and how will it improve next season?

For SC, it has to be Pass Rush. For about 4 previous seasons, SC had at least 1 dominant pass rusher and was close to the top of the conference in Sacks/TFL's. This past season...not so much...SC ranked dead last in the SEC in Sacks & TFL's. It was awful to watch.

However, this year SC did a great job in recruiting talented DE's, even among the JUCO ranks, who could come in and get things back on track. Currently SC has the #1 SDE and WDE in 247's site rankings (Marquavius. Lewis and Dante Sawyer.) SC is also brining in the #1 SDE Prep and #1 Overall Prep player (Dexter Wideman.) SC also is brining in another 4* UA All American WDE in Shameik Blackshear and AL/MS All Star Game standout 3* Quandeski Whitlow. Then there's a chance that 4* UA All American Arden Key recommits.

SC totally restaffed at DE and should see an immediate return to pass rushing prominence in '15.

For UT...offensive line was biggest weakness in '14.

Hopefully, it will improve through another off season of training/conditioning. Last year's OL (at the end of the season) included:

TE - True Freshman
OT - RS Jr
OG - RS Jr
C - RS Jr
OG - True Freshman
OT - Sr. with torn ACL

2-deep rotation included: 1 Rs Jr, 2 Sophomores, 2 RS Freshmen and 2 True Freshmen...

Hopefully, Dontavius Blair will have benefited from a redshirt season, and be able to step in at a Tackle position.

Charles Mosley will hopefully be ready to go when the season starts (he will be 14 months removed from the car accident where he broke his leg).

Also, look for at least one True Freshman to step up and get significant playing time...Jack Jones most likely from our current list of commitments.

So, the fact that they only lose one OL from last year is either a blessing or a curse (depending on how you look at it).

I sure hope we generate more pressure from our defensive linemen...

DB? Or the DL. DBs weren't as bad last year as expected due to some miracle working by Pruitt and should only get better due to experience and added quality depth. DL should really take the same lead, though we lose Ray Drew and Mike Thornton.

For the cats it's the passing game. Experienced starter returning, our wideouts won't be freshmen anymore, and our line returns a lot.

Sawyer should definitely give you instant help on your pass rush.

Passing offense. QB, whoever it is, will simply have to be better than last year. That and the Freshmen receivers will run better routes and hopefully not drop so many balls. Also bringing in another 5* WR who's going to push for early playing time. The TE's got involved late in the year and I believe that will continue as well.

Offensive line. We were a far cry from the days of DJ Fluker and Chance Warmack.

CamRob was a beast though.
