Your options

JAMARCUS RUSSELL (LSU) - #1 Overall Pick, 2007 Draft
- 3 seasons in Oakland before being cut
- 2nd fastest #1 pick to be released (1992 Steve Entman who had injuries)

Stats
52.1% passer, 18 TDs, 23 INTs, 6.0 YPA, 132 YPG, 65.2 QB Rating

TRENT RICHARDSON (BAMA) - #3 Overall Pick, 2012 Draft
- traded by Cleveland to Indianapolis after 1+ seasons for a 1st round pick, effectively wasting two teams 1st round picks
- finished with one of the lowest YPC figures in NFL history (3.3 YPC)
- completely out of football after being cut by the Raiders and Ravens in 2015 and 2016

Stats
3.3 YPC, 17 Rush TD in 46 Games, 44 YPG

LUKE JOECKEL (TEXAS A&M) - #2 Overall Pick, 2013 Draft
- #2 overall pick was expected to be the franchise left tackle, but after a subpar 2012 season at RT injured 2013 season, he returned to LT in 2014 to record the worst offensive tackle numbers in the NFL per ProFootballFocus.
- Because of poor performance, moved to Left Guard in 2016 until season ending injury. The Jaguars did not pick up his option.

GREG ROBINSON (AUBURN) - #2 Overall Pick, 2014 Draft
- showed up to his first training camp 15 lbs overweight
- started the season at left tackle but was a disaster both in blocking and penalties (12 penalties in first 10 games).
- has been consistently rated by ProFootballFocus as one of, if not the, worst tackle in the NFL (when playing tackle)
- Was so bad the Rams (who have the worst OL in the NFL) made him a "healthy scratch" for their Week 11 game vs New Orleans.

Probably Russell, but I have a vendetta against Richardson for Fantasy Football purposes

Honorable mentions to Manziel and Tebow and warranted in this thread.

Russell could have been awesome if he just cared. Trent Richardson is the one that just absolutely blows my mind. How can you look so good in college and then look so terrible in the pros? And as a runningback. I sincerely feel sorry for the guy because he was always so hard on himself.

Russell by a mile. I never understood the love for Greg Robinson. He was a hell of a run blocker in college, but that's about it. I'm not going to look it up but I feel like he had penalty issues at AU too.

But Russell has been one of the biggest flops in history, much less the last decade.

Yea, I never saw the Trent Richardson thing coming. I mean, maybe a league average back? Sure. But not able to make a roster after 5 years? No way. Never in 1,000 years.

Russell is the obvious #1. The race for #2 would be much more competitive. My vote is for Johnny.

His flame out was an all-timer, but he was the 22nd pick. #1 and #2 picks are supposed to be franchise bedrock picks, #22 not so much.

Clearly he wasn't as great a player and back as he was at Alabama, and clearly he got to run behind some really good offensive lines, but I maintain that the only way he could be THAT bad is that he was out of shape and not committed to learning what he needed to know and be to be an NFL RB. I think he figured that out after 3 years, but by then it was way too late.

A shame - doesn't matter how talented you are at that level, if you ain't committed you ain't stickin.

I'm going to say Jamarcus, only because Richardson did have a pretty decent rookie year

Although we were still in the Big 12, Blaine Gabbert has to be up there.

And as a Rams fan, frick you Greg Robinson.

I think you got it right 1-4 in your list.

The only reason why I would not move Robinson up the list is that every GM in the NFL knew he was not that good at pass pro and would be a project in the passing game and someone was dumb enough to take him that high anyway.

Russell obviously. Richardson and Luke were shocking to me. Thought both were all pro level.

I may be wrong but didn't they call a personal foul or roughing on Trent for putting his head down early in his career?
He certainly didn't practice hard. Only holes he hit were young girls.
