Hornung did.

He had 420 yds rushing
Scored 6 Td's I do not know how many PAT or FG he had though.
I know the 3/13 is correct.

Some consider him and Tim Brown to be the greatest all around players ever at Notre Dame, that is saying something.

Because Paul Hornung is considered an all time great in college and the NFL. im sure he was pretty damn good that year

The only stat that he had Majors beat was KR yardage, but think about it, their defense was terrible, he got to return a lot more kickoffs.

Couple that with the fact that he's the only player in history to win the award on a team with a losing record, over a guy who had better stats on an undefeated team.

Hornung was a great football player, but he didn't deserve the Heisman.

ETA: Oh yeah, Hornung kicked fieldgoals, whoopdee fricking doo

Well in that case, it is family legacy to not win it. So they got it right on another level also.

Jason White was surrounded by talent....his numbers should have looked better. Eli had mediocre players and exceeded expectations. He won 10 games at Ole Miss with shitty talent around him.

Did Jason White do anything after college? Eli won 2 super bowls. I'm pretty sure Jason White is the last player to win the heisman and not get drafted.

So he ended up getting it because he was pretty much the whole team. QB, RB, K, P returner, etc?

The bigger question was why did Notre Dame suck so bad? That was their hey day

White also wasn't drafted and didn't even receive an NFL tryout. The only 2 other Heisman winners to not be drafted chose not to enter.

What does NFL have to do with best CFB player?

I mean the guy had 2 ACL surgeries before his Junior year, of course he is not getting drafted. He was in Titans camp.

Majors did everything but kick, I'm sure if he had to, he would have done that too.

Well, when your starting QB has a 1:3.3 TD:Int ratio, I'm sure that doesn't help.

Notre Dame ran the Box Single Wing, it is what Auburn runs now. I mean Gus invented the Wildcat, the Single Wing, and offense according to Stephens Media though.

They had basically 2 QB's on field at all times.

With the talent that OU had that season...I believe many other QBs could have done just as good with that team. OU would have still had a good season without Jason White.

Eli was our team in 2003. We won 10 games. Without him we maybe win 2 or 3. I believe he was the most talented player in CFB that season and did more for his team than the other finalists.

I think Toby Gerhart should have won it. His numbers were outstanding.

We did, but what does it matter? It's not Majors's fault that Notre Dame had a retarded offensive scheme.

No it is not. I was just trying to point out that he was not the only QB that ND had.

I am not saying Majors did not deserve it.

Majors got stabbed in the back twice at UT

First the Trophy then by Fulmer.
